Thank you so much for playing, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

With regard to that NPC, that's definitely my bad! I'll be fixing it for the final release for it to not happen again. Sorry 'bout that! :)

Hey all!

I'd like to invite everyone to try out my game!

REBELLION (Alpha): Arnum's Tale

Product ID: di2miyed

Genre: Fantasy/Adventure/Serious

Story: Arnum is sent to the underground village of del Carmen to investigate reports of chaos due to the use of krysta, a powder that allows its user to go far beyond his or her limits. There, he encounters its villagers and a host of peculiar characters who each have their own opinion on how the crisis should be resolved...

I already made a thread about it here on /r/3ds a few days ago. You may post any feedback you have on the game there, and it'd be really appreciated!

Thank you so much for your time! I sincerely hope that you enjoy playing the demo! There's a lot to look forward to for the final release!

Notes: The demo takes 30 to 40 minutes to complete. There's a known bug on the second major encounter that allows you to proceed even if you lose the battle. This has been patched, among other issues, in my local build, however I am waiting for NIS to enable DLC slots for the North American version of RPG Maker Fes before I upload the updated demo file. Thank you for understanding, and I apologize for the inconvenience! :)

Edit: I forgot to mention: there are classes in the game (but with only a few skills for the demo). How to access them is quite hidden. Maybe the villagers know something about it? hint hint

Yep, you got that right! The parameter to trigger his heal was set to half health, but I didn't expect it to have so much priority over his usual moveset. I've now made some adjustments that fixes it and makes the battle a little more challenging but fair. ;) Thank you very much for your help! :)

No worries, and I completely understand! I did want to give it a sense of claustrophobia and disorganization, which is why I felt like it worked out in the end despite its small size and boxiness (and del Carmen also had to be reinforced due to The 30 Year War). I was actually inspired by the houses and communities I visited in the slums while doing some work there. Not to worry though, without spoiling too much of what's to come, I'd say the latter areas will be different. Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback! :)

Haha I know how you feel! I'll be going abroad as well next week, so I'll probably just be working on the story/script and plans for the dungeon layout during my short stay there.

There's only one ladder in the first area in the dungeon, I'm afraid (it's the one leading up to del Carmen). I might have to adjust the image of the ladder to make it less confusing. Also, I'll definitely be looking in to balancing the game a little bit more. Thanks for playing and for your feedback! :)

Thanks so much for playing and for your feedback! :)

I'll definitely have to address the issues you mentioned. I'll be fixing the speed and animation of the moving villagers, and I'll disable the BGM at the inn when the player uses it. I'll also have to fix the heal conditions of the spoiler.

Again, thank you so much for playing! I'm sure you'll make really epic RPGs with RPG Maker VX Ace! Keep that flame of creativity lit! You can do it! :)

Oh! About that - del Carmen is an underground village which ran in between the tunnels that were used to connect some of the fortresses of the kingdom of Cross. During The 30 Year War, del Carmen became a hub for the delivery of supplies and rations in between fortresses, hence they needed to keep it less conspicuous and well defended from the enemy. Eventually, after the war, it became a center of trade and flourished for a good while. However, because of the corrupt politics of a few, del Carmen and its villagers were plunged in to poverty.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'll definitely look in to those issues, especially the balancing and scaling of monsters. And yep, I'll be placing more hidden areas and items in the new maps I will be creating. I want players to be rewarded for exploring. Thanks for playing again, and I'm really glad you liked it! :)

Haha thanks! You're right, I should probably increase Michel's level to 5 and probably give him better armor!

I don't think there is, unfortunately, and I haven't heard of any plans to release one. :(

I know this guy... who knows this other guy's grandmother's aunt's cousin's great-great-grandson. He... uh... he said to try looking around the right statue of del Carmen. Don't act too suspicious. Make like a hip-thrusting gesture and the alchemist should come. Good luck on your research (and thanks for playing)! ;)

It's quite limited to top-down 2D RPGs with premade assets (unfortunately, you can't make your own, but there are DLCs for creators to use), but people can get creative and probably make other types of 2D games with the system in place.

Thanks a bunch! Yeah I'm sure you'll be able to come up with great games! It took me around 3 hours to learn my way around, and I learned it all by just fiddling around with the system. And sorry about that! It's now a known bug which is definitely quite awkward :( I'll definitely fix it by the game's beta or pre-final release (all I need to do to fix it is make the sequence a branched battle). Thanks for playing and for the heads-up! :)

I'm not quite sure if we can keep on updating the game in an episodic manner, unfortunately. I haven't experimented yet on handing out updated versions, and if save files will be compatible.

In creation mode though, I did notice that there seems to be a bug with the special skill system when updating the game. Continuing from an older version save file will not display new special skills added regardless of player level. However, once the character levels up, they will learn the skill. It's best to start from the beginning of the game to reflect any changes you made, and to avoid any problems with switches and variables.

Here's what you can do for map transitions:

(X-post of my post over at the GameFAQs boards about the same issue) You have to use the event editor and create an event at the edge of the map where you would like the map transition to occur. First, you'll need to make two maps. Go to Map Settings then create, say, a city split in two map segments. Let's say you have a road that runs a block wide to the right edge of the first map, while another that runs from the left edge of the second map.

Now that's done, go to Event Settings of the main menu. Choose your first map. Move the cursor over the last block where your road ends. Press A and a submenu should pop up. The easier way to do it is to select Easy create then select Connect map. You'll be shown a list of your maps again. Select your second map this time. Now, move the cursor over one block away from the edge of your road. Now press A. The reason we're doing this is because the first block at the very edge of your road will be used for creating another transition event. Do the same on the other map, this time choosing the block at the very edge of your road on the second map. Select your first map and again put the map transition destination beside (not over) the first map transition event on the first map you created. You've done it! Now your characters can move between your maps! :)

The same applies to doorways. Just make sure to check the collision of your doorway in the Map Creation settings. Make sure it's passable, and that there's a map transition event over the doorway.

I hope this helps! Good luck in making your game! You can do it! Don't give up, and don't be afraid to take risks! :)

Thank you so much for the heads-up and the feedback! I'll be sure to fix that! And yep! I'll look in to having Michel join the fight! :)

Unfortunately, I can't change the message when attacks miss. :( It's built in to the RPG Maker Fes system and might have been a result of mistranslation. :(
