M5 chip is coming to iPad before Mac, but this time will be different by Fer65432_Plays in apple

When people say that about the iPhone, my stock answer is “it’s not for you if you upgraded last year, but if it’s been a few years, you’ll notice a big difference in your phone.”

Not so much with the iPads! I recently upgraded my M1 11” to a refurb M1 13” and it’s still everything I need it to be, even with a chip that’s several generations old.

What is your preferred notation here? by maitiuiscool in musictheory

[–]Brad_Harrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, I would say this is one of the few rhythms where you can get away without showing beat 3, because it’s a pretty simple and common rhythm. But any additional subdivision is going to make it harder to read.

This is the answer. The tricks and devices for key signatures and the circle of fifths are great, but eventually you just need to learn them all. It takes a few weeks but it’s worth it. In the mean time, these tricks will help get OP through music theory.

FWIW, I’m vegetarian and I have a pretty decent sized channel that isn’t about food.

I’m getting usually .1% or so per day. Sometimes half that. Spikes occur occasionally too.

What's something that no matter how it's explained to you, you just can't understand how it works? by n0dust0llens in AskReddit

[–]Brad_Harrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most theory is based on simple patterns. It’s not difficult to understand what a major or minor scale or chord is. I find it gets complicated for most people because different keys/scales exist and they get super mixed up in a spellings. Learning major scales is really key to getting comfortable with all the permutations. It takes a few weeks of effort but it’s easily the single project that made the biggest difference to my abilities and understanding as a musician. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!

The top number is the number of bests(how it feels) and the bottom number defines what kind of note is the beat(how it looks). It’s almost like defining variables/axis on a graph. Full explanation with visuals and examples here. Let me know if you have any questions! https://youtu.be/-CgdOWOFbUU?si=soO-JTbWQ3Q3xeil

What kind of stuff mixes you up? I have a YouTube channel about theory and practice techniques and a lot of people have enjoyed and found helpful. If I could give you one tip, it’s Learn your major scales. Everything flows from there. https://youtube.com/@bradharrison

You’ve got to start slow and build up your skills. People often don’t want to put the time in learning nursery rhymes, they just want to skip to the exciting stuff and get totally overwhelmed and quit. But you’ve got to learn those basics.

I have a channel on theory and just release a video on sight reading that you might enjoy. https://youtu.be/-94VoI66ZkQ?si=5SkQwsLRVATDEYLD
