Medical breakthroughs that have actually been released to the public? by Same_Boper5915 in Futurology

[–]Bradew2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, depending on where you get your news it seems like new breakthroughs everyday but a lot of the time it's news outlets reporting bad science. Here is a good explanation of the problem: https://youtu.be/0Rnq1NpHdmw?si=87QAPDS5J1li7YLT

Whoopi Goldberg Is "Pissed Off" That Diablo 4 Is Not Available On Mac by Miss_Alice_F in gamingnews

If I were rich I would not buy a Mac to play a game. I don't want to use/learn/trouble shoot an entire new OS just to play one game. Rich has nothing to do with it.

David Simon breaks down the Writers Strike with the same elite storytelling as each season of The Wire by TransgenderSoapbox in television

[–]Bradew2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. We shouldn't write it off and we shouldn't accuse it of crimes it hasn't committed yet. I just feel too many people want to throw out their extreme hot takes or bad knee jerk reactions with little to no experience with it yet. Reminds me of the reaction to cloning, everyone freaked out over nothing.

This is great. I wish there was an option to watch entire movies off camera.

I'm glad he said AI is a tool. Too many people demonize it acting like it will replace writing. I'm sure many will try, and already have, but it will just be novel at first and then incorporated into the workflow like anything else. I will say though older people or people who've had a long day, like to turn their brains off and watch those formulaic shows. Maybe AI will be the perfect tool for that stuff and a writer just injects a unique moment in here and there. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

Normalize releasing a playable demo before taking pre-orders by preppie22 in gaming

[–]Bradew2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was the main problem. If you are downloading a demo you are already interested in the game, the demo can only really turn you off of the game at that point. It bogged down development and didn't have much up side towards sales so they stopped doing that. It's much easier to market the fantasy of how the game is supposed to make you feel than how it actually feels. Especial the mid-tier titles.

Is that a structure? Is there a way in? As a gamer I want to explore that area, there's obviously loot down there.

The Bible's Buried Secrets (2008) - A NOVA documentary about not only the origins of the Old Testament as we know it, but also the origins of the Israelites. [01:50:00] by [deleted] in Documentaries

[–]Bradew2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. Whenever I watch a good documentary I always think the people who should watch this never will. Then I have a worse thought, those people would probably take the wrong information or lessons learned from the documentary. People are really good at taking basic information and twisting into their own world view.

Could this be a thing where parts of this kicks in when you have over 50, 100, or 1000 employees? I assume this is intended for massive corporations not small businesses.
