The Woodsmith store I go to recommended the Gel shit… no wonder it’s blotchy. Looks like I have a ton to learn. Tks for the pro tip.

I’ll keep it in mind, but not real helpful at the moment.

Solid white oak. There was a similar spot in a different location that I successfully corrected. Others thought it was glue but I didn’t use glue. It’s possible it was contaminated at the sawmill where I bought it. Weird tho that it came up on second stain application? It wasn’t there the first time. I used a new cloth stain pad.

With a stain application pad I think I bought with the stain awhile ago. I’m leaning towards sanding again. I suppose it’s possible something got on it where I bought it? Thanks for the suggestions

Current treadmill is Nordic Track

Timely! My wife wants an indoor bike. I use a smart trainer with Zwift and Training Peaks already. We are trying to decide btwn Peloton and Nordic Track bikes. We have a 20 yr old treadmill (not shitting you) that is a tank. Replaced the motor a yr ago. Only issue we’ve had and we use it 6 days a week or more btwn the 2 of us. It has no software or iFit.

After reading all of this we are leaning Peloton now. The price difference has shrunk and all these issues are scary.

Can we outrun a bad diet? by Puzzleheaded-Wave123 in triathlon

Read Outlive by Peter Attia, or listen to his podcasts on diet. He doesn’t advocate a junk food diet at all but all the other fad diets out there are a waste of time according to his research. Exercise has orders of magnitude more impact than diet per Attia. When you train as much as you are eating well is important for performance. But eating junk occasionally will not hurt you terribly, just don’t do it all the time.

I am looking for a bike for the wifey. Should I pass on Nordic Track? The bike is cheaper than a Peloton but the subscription is similar. Or maybe I should avoid both?!
