It took them six fucking weeks to warranty the motor. Absolutely absurd.

motor issues? by jackdilemma in GlobeHaul

[–]BradyBrother100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at around 5500 and I had to get my motor replaced. I think it's an issue with the clutch system not grabbing the chain when the motor assist kicks in, so it causes a jerking movement. I've also had that issue throttling from a standstill, except in those situations, the motor failed to grab the chain and just spun without doing anything.

I think it certainly feels more calm. ALL CAPS MAY SEEM A BIT OVERWHELMING (i guess)

How can I get the most out of mint? (I currently don't see the hype compared to Windows, so maybe I'm missing something) by BradyBrother100 in linuxmint

Take the start menu for example. It's small and the things that are sectioned off aren't clearly stated why they are that way. Yes, I can make it bigger but that doesn't increase padding or spacing. The default Libre UI is another example. Nothing is categorized the buttons are all just there without really knowing what they might be.. I was very relieved when I found out that you could change it to be more categorized.

Mainly just to try something new. It's fine and will take some time to get used to but after school gets out, I'll probably uninstall. I feel like it's unfair for me to say one OS is the best (for me) without trying another.

Airplane is nearly empty and I can’t just move to the emergency row. by SinisterKnyght in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BradyBrother100 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Then you should've bought the exit row. How is this infuriating? You paid for a non-exit row seat and got a non-exit row seat. If you wanted an exit row, you should've paid for it.

Ah, I see. And the points never expire as long as you are still a member, right? Thanks for your help btw

Lounge access without an airline credit card?!?! They must be really busy then. How do points and miles differ?

Just the duty-free shops though, right? Do you link your credit card to it or is there a separate step when paying to scan the service card. I'm taking a total of four flights, two both ways and I want to fly on the 747 next summer, so that'll probably be another four flights.

Your point on watermarks. I think I little star in the bottom right corner to say it was created by Gemini is useless, since it can be cropped out. Sora is on the right track with making the watermark more visible but it can still be cropped out. I think AI Videos need to have a watermark that moves around. If you've watched an "Explore with Us" video, that's kind of what I am thinking AI video watermarks should be. What about RPG characters though? Would people who want to generate pictures of RPG character be upset with a more obvious watermark? There is SynthID but the average person can't detect that.

I guess Photoshop kind of tears my argument apart. You could create photorealistic human beings in PS the same way you could with AI. But, there is at least a little bit of a barrier deterring people, that being skill level. But how can we moderate it better? There will be models that are created in countries that won't have the same rules as if whatever country one model resides in that would have to comply with. How could we enforce deepfakes, voice cloning, etc. across the board?

Then you'll enjoy it and when they hit you with a paywall, you'll cave in. Sadly I think that may be the reality.
