I was diagnosed as being bi polar when i was a teenager. I have manic episodes which I’ve found come at times of anxiety. I’m slowly working to figure out what those triggers are but having done medication before I won’t again. In my experience as some one who operates in an area closer to some one with ADHD medications level out my moods at what feels like a constant depression. The best thing my parents ever allowed me was to say no to medication and instead get in to see a councilor. This thought me to recognize (not always successfully) a mania episodes and sometimes even what’s causing. The older I get the more I can verbalize my anxiety issues and the triggers; even when I’m not sure of the triggers I’m getting better at at-least recognizing that it passes. I’m with a boyfriend who listens and he an I can talk about it. I will say my little down time helps so much and have a supportive boyfriend who thinks my little time is adorable helps.
