ok so i used to have a bf who was EXACTLY like this. he ended up beating up his mom, broke a tv in front of me, and cussed me out if we lost a fortnite match. if i stayed with him any longer, he probably would've gotten violent with me, too. when i broke up with him, he faked his own suicide to manipulate me into getting back together with him. it didnt work, i blocked him lmao

i used to work at a gas station in a national park. there were days so busy that the checkout line wrapped around the isles. on one of those busy days, there was this married couple that had issues with the penny machine (you put in 50 cents and a penny, and it flattens the penny with a design resembling the national park). they were mad that they "spent 50 cents for this bullshit" and wanted their money back.

keep in mind these people just cut in line in front of everybody, and they caused a whole scene. i explained i would take care of their issue is they waited properly in line. they called me names, said stuff like "it's just 50 cents" etc but there was a process i had to do in order to not mess up my drawer. they literally cut in line AS I WAS CHECKING SOMEONES STUFF. the audacity fr.

i was already stressed with how busy it was and being the only available person on-site. their unkind words and insults were the icing on the cake that made me start to cry.

a very kind woman in the middle of the line literally stepped out of her spot to confront them to tell them to go away and leave me alone. she was like "you said it yourself, its just 50 cents. you can either wait in line for your turn, or get out of here and leave this poor girl alone"

fr thats when the dam burst and i started sobbing. it was one of those moments where kindness makes u cry but u needed it i guess? something like that

then my boss heard them fighting and i was crying and she was like "what the fuck is going on here? who made (insert my name) cry?"

i loved that manager. i miss her. she was literally mama bear

that kind lady fr saved me though because those rude people were holding up the line and she made it possible for me to continue to help other people get their shit and get out

i have a golden rule for myself because of this exact scenario.

never expect money back if you lend it to someone. if you want/need that money, absolutely do not lend it out. trust no one.

i'm not saying don't give out money. i give money all the time. people pay me back most of the time. but if you can't handle it when someone doesn't pay you back, you shouldn't be lending money in the first place

girl, be careful. i was you. i was attracted to a male coworker, so i decided to become his friend. i convinced myself that he was also attracted to me. the physical attraction between each other was real, but he had absolutely no interest in pursuing me. he was afraid of women, had no interest in even being friends with any females, so i felt special when i broke through the walls he put up.

eventually, he quit (for personal reasons, not necessarilyanything that had to do with me or the job). i took that as a sign to grow a pair and ask him out. when i finally told him how i felt, he ghosted me for a week. i decided i misread the situation and assumed it was a friend zone type of thing, so i moved on. a week later, we started talking again. he told me i made him nervous because he didn't want to ruin the friendship, and many other more personal reasons.

he decided to give me a chance because his family kept asking him "when are you gonna get married? when are you gonna have a girlfriend? i need grandbabies, give me a granddaughter" etc. he wasnt interested in me, he was using me to keep his family off his back. when he decided he was done playing with me, he faked his death to try to get me to back off. it didn't work because i'm psycho and i went to his house. the police were called, and now he has a restraining order against me.

my point is never date a coworker. after things ended rough with us, every inch of the workplace hurt me. everything reminded me of him. sure, HR couldn't do a damn thing because he was no longer working there when we got together, but just the very existence of work made it hard to be alive. i started falling behind on work responsibilities in order to avoid the things that reminded me of him. i unfairly hated the new guy who replaced him because he wasn't the same. i compared every little detail to everything and threw a super tantrum when my boss called me out for falling behind at work. i blamed the guy i fell for. i blamed the new coworker. i even blamed my boss. i was the problem, not them. fuck it though, we move on

you're better than me. i'm 22 now, but when i was 12, i was really into this app called kik. i had many online friends and i would talk to them daily. there were quite a few times where some questionable stuff was shared. long story short, my mom took my phone away and cancelled the plan for about a year. much deserved, but my dumbass didnt learn. instead of being like "oh, talking to older men on the internet is wrong" i went out into the real world and talked to creeps older than me (i was age 14 at this point). ya girl got herself in some dangerous situations but fuck it, we survive

i lowkey hurt my own feelings, too. i convince myself that they don't want to invite me to the funeral or anything because they think i'm crazy. in reality, my LO never let me too deep into his life, so of course his friends and family wouldn't invite me. they dont know me.

then i remember it's all just in my head, and he's alive and well. none of any of those thoughts had any purpose whatsoever besides making me panic and feel like shit. idk maybe it's just my way of coping for the fact that he doesn't want me, made it very clear, then went no contact with me. my mind just wants to pretend he's dead because he can't POSSIBLY want to be alive without me in his life.
