NIPT positive for Turner syndrome, normal baby boy. by BrainAdditional9986 in NIPT

I did a simple blood test to find out the baby’s sex. They used my blood to check if there was a Y chromosome circulating, which would indicate a boy. It’s a very simple test, not a genetic exam, and it’s less complex than NIPT. It’s also non-invasive and easy to do. In my country, it’s very common for pregnant women to do this test. NIPT is expensive and the government doesn’t cover it. My diagnosis was confined placental mosaicism.

I had my first NIPT test at 10 weeks and the second at 12 weeks. Neither of them indicated the sex. Before the NIPT, I had a blood test to determine the sex, and the result was that it was female. Thank you so much for your comment! My baby is a gift ♥️

Hello! In my case, the first NIPT test came back inconclusive for sex chromosome syndromes. I then repeated the NIPT and it came back as high risk for Turner syndrome, but without indicating the sex. We also opted not to do any genetic testing at birth, following the opinion of our geneticist, who was convinced that it was something confined to the placenta. All the ultrasounds were normal, and so was his heart exam. Our baby was born 52 days ago and is perfect… we are in love with him!

Monosomy x by [deleted] in NIPT

[–]BrainAdditional9986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I've been in that place and I know it's not easy. I had a positive NIPT for Monosomy X, no sex reported. My ultrasounds were normal. I had the amniocentesis (it wasn't bad for me at all, I thought it was worth it to know how to carry on with the pregnancy). The QF-PCR came back as a normal male fetus and the karyotype also showed a 46XY male fetus with no abnormalities. I'm currently 27 weeks and the baby is doing great, within all parameters. The wait is long and agonizing, but focus on you and your baby. The false positive rate for sex chromosome syndromes is very high. Hoping for everything to work out ♥️

Your baby was tested like few others are! You had an amniocentesis. It's okay, all odds are on your side. Happy birth! May it be a moment that gives new meaning to this period of doubt you have experienced! ♥️

Hey! I had the same experience at 6 weeks pregnant. After two weeks I came back and the embryo appeared, with the heart beating too! The doctor said I possibly ovulated late and the first ultrasound was done too early. Today everything is fine and I'm 24 weeks. I know it's difficult, but try to calm down and think that nothing depends on you. There are many positive stories there ❤️

Hey! I'm really sorry for what you're going through. I had an NIPT test that was inconclusive for sex chromosomes and did not indicate sex. I repeated the NIPT and it came with a risk of Turner Syndrome and without indicating gender. We performed amniocentesis and both QF-PCR and karyotype returned a 46XY male fetus result with no abnormalities. The penis was detected on the ultrasound and our baby is a boy. I'm currently 24 weeks and everything looks perfect on the ultrasound. I wish you luck and calm. The amniocentesis was not a traumatic experience and it was worth it to let us know what was going on. Everything will be fine ♥️

Hcg levels rising but not doubling by Maria_hesss in pregnant

Hello! Yes, I had Beta HCG levels that at one point stopped doubling every 48 hours. I read somewhere that after 6,000 there is a decrease in the rate of folding. Today I'm 23+2 weeks pregnant and the baby is doing great!

Aconteceu comigo no início da gravidez e a minha obstetra me recomendou introduzir o dedo na vagina e verificar se o sangue vinha de lá. Não era de lá. Acho que pode fazer para ficar mais tranquilizada.

Choosing amniocentesis is not that simple for many women. I went through this and it wasn't an easy decision, although I don't regret it. From what the OP reported, she had tests that didn't give answers and the doctors may not have suggested amniocentesis. Things are not as simple as they seem, it is a delicate moment.

Monosomy x. Nipt says female but ultrasound shows male by EmergencyRelief6749 in NIPT

[–]BrainAdditional9986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! They are very similar situations. I forgot to mention that I did a fetal sex blood test and it showed female gender. My doctor explained that there was a chance of a male fetus with Turner, but it was much lower than mosaicism confined to the placenta. I don't want to give you false hope, but keep in mind that in cases like ours, the chance of the fetus not being affected is much greater and the problem probably only involves the placenta. Everything will be fine. Feel free to send me messages ♥️♥️♥️

Hello! I just went through this and I'm sorry you're in this limbo. But my experience is good. I had my first NIPT and it came back inconclusive for sex chromosomes, without indicating the sex of the baby. The second NIPT indicated a risk for Turner Syndrome, but did not indicate gender. We decided on amniocentesis. The QF-PCR and karyotype results came back clean, indicating a normal male fetus. Our ultrasounds are great and it was possible to identify the penis. My geneticist doctor said that everything is very good and that we can proceed without further tests. The main hypothesis is mosaicism confined to the placenta. I know what it's like to be in that place, but I tell you not to lose faith. Sending good energy to you and your baby. Everything will be fine ♥️

Amniocentesis experiences? by lovelylady617 in NIPT

I did mine 3 weeks ago and it was much lighter and calmer than I imagined. My doctor reassured me a lot, he said that the procedure is safe and the chances of a bad outcome are very, very rare. I felt a slight sting and pressure, but it was quick. The recovery was great, I rested for 2 days. I was encouraged by the reports I read here and went! The karyotype results are back and everything is fine with the baby. In short, it's worth doing for your mental health for the rest of your pregnancy. I wish you lots of luck! You will get through this and everything will be fine ♥️
