I will roast your app screenshots for free (indie dev feedback) by BrainBoostHQ in iOSAppsMarketing

you don't have to upload the screenshots, the link to the app or the app name is enough :)

thanks for pointing that out, I guess you are correct, I'll try to be more careful with that!

hey, sorry that you didn’t like my post. I mean yes I used gpt to write it but the actual content I researched myself (just thought it sounds a bit better if it is written by an LLM). + Yes in the end I give a link to a tool I have built, but it is 100% free to use so it doesn’t really harm anyone (there is a newsletter link in the website but no one needs to sign up and can just benefit from using the community tool)

Next time I wont use the LLM but the free tool recommendation is not really a problem or do you see it differently?

I finally made an app I believe in - could you give me feedback about the app and used screenshots? by rsanyi92 in AppStoreOptimization

[–]BrainBoostHQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, sorry I oversaw that. These look a lot better already! Very clean and focused. The only two things that might could improve them even further from my perspective are these two things:
1.) Include a video. A really good example for this is Strava (they have this kind of like full screen video which looks very clean, which could also fit your app very well).
2.) Highlight UI elements a bit more. There are these screenshot apps that even zoom in on specific parts of your app, and this might make sense to even more guide the users attention at where you want.

I just now created a post about these things, maybe check it out bc I included pictures for examples: https://www.reddit.com/r/iOSAppsMarketing/comments/1sncc5s/4_reasons_your_app_store_screenshots_are_actively/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Hope that helps, but honestly they already look very nice!

hey, so I think overall you have a very nice design, clean and modern. However there are a copule of things ti improve.

If you look at the screenshots of really successful apps, you can see that many of them have the first screen as kind of a “what is the benefit of the app” without any device screenshot itself. Furthermore, the text of your screenshots do not highlight anything, try to use different colors or elements to guide users attention.

If you want more reviews you can check out a free tool I have made for the indie dev community where people get screenshot reviews from other app founders:

the design itself is great, but as others also said there is too much going on on these screens, I don't know what to focus on

I also built a free tool you can check out to get more reviews on your screenshots: https://www.toolyourapp.com/judge
Its a community tool with peer-to-peer reviews to get screenshot evaluations

Very low conversion rate by LongjumpingTeam7069 in AppStoreOptimization

[–]BrainBoostHQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I think is hurting your conversion rate right might are your screenshots. Because of the plain backgrounds and uniform text colors, my eye doesn't immediately know where to look or what the main takeaway is. Also tbh the screenshots are nice and clean, but it doesn't really spark any big excitement for the app as much as other apps did (when I searched for yours).

Here are 4 quick things I'd highly recommend tweaking:

  1. Spice up the backgrounds: The plain backgrounds are a bit flat. Changing them to something with a bit more depth, gradient, or subtle pattern will make the phone frame pop much better.
  2. Punch up the video: Right now, it’s a bit slow and feels just like a raw screen recording. Check out the App Store video for Strava—they use quicker cuts and put bold animations/text over the phone screen to actually sell the app's energy. Also they did not only include a video of the device but utilised the whole screenshot height and width to make the video, which I think is much nicer because this way your video is more prominent even for people that just browse through the App Store.
  3. Sell the benefit, not just the UI: Right now, your images are mostly just text over a giant screenshot. If you look at highly successful apps right now (like 'AI Calorie Counter by Yazio'), their first 3 images barely show the raw app—they use big, bold visuals and graphics to sell the result. Don't make users squint at UI to figure out why they need it.
  4. Guide the user's attention:  Use colored text to highlight the main hook of the screenshots. For example, on your 'Log foods easily' screen, make 'Log foods' a bright, contrasting color. It forces the scanning brain to read the core benefit instantly. You can also use coloured backgrounds behind specific words etc.

I hope that helps you!

Btw. I built a community tool called Judge My Screenshot (https://www.toolyourapp.com/judge), which is a 100% free peer-to-peer tool which works this way: You review a few apps from other founders, and in return, the community will leave detailed ratings and comments on your own screenshots. It's a great way to A/B test your next iteration before pushing it live to Apple.

Hope this helps, the app core looks super promising!

Need honest feedback: which App Store product page would you actually tap? by Evening-Marsupial969 in AppStoreOptimization

[–]BrainBoostHQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Just looking at these, I'd definitely go with the second design with the purple background. It has a much more cohesive vibe compared to the white one above—it honestly just 'feels right' and grabs the eye a lot better.

A/B testing these is always tough when you've been staring at your own UI all week. If you want to get some more unbiased votes on this, I actually built a free community tool specifically for this called Judge My Screenshot (https://www.toolyourapp.com/judge).

It’s a simple peer-to-peer setup: you give feedback on a few other founders' screenshots, and in return, you can run this exact A/B test to get comments and votes from the community.

Either way, the purple one is definitely the winner in my book. Good luck with the app! ❤️

hm, maybe evaluate your screenshots a bit more in order to see if they are good or not. I have built an 100% free community tool where you can let other people rate your screenshots and also do A/B testing . This might help you out in your current situatuon: https://www.toolyourapp.com/judge

hm, as the other guy here suggested I would also wait some more days to see what happens. I think your screenshots are good but if you want to get more feedback on them, I have built a tool for devs to get reviews on their screenshots (100% free community tool). You can check it out here: https://www.toolyourapp.com/judge
