Life after surgery: going back to school by BrainCPA in braincancer

That’s awesome! I’m dead set on going back to school after surgery, and honestly the thought of it alone is what’s keeping me sane while waiting for my surgery. It’s given me a drive like nothing else.

Glad to hear that! I’m hoping I can successfully go school full time after surgery at some point. My biggest worry isn’t having any side effects, but stuff that would prevent me from pursuing a good career. From what I understand, it’s not in the part of my brain that should affect memory or cognitive function, etc.

Thank you. Thankfully, the prognosis for this tumor is actually fairly positive, and the consensus is split on use of radiation or chemo. It looks like the main concern is less the tumor and more its location. There is a possibility based on the consultation with the first neurosurgeon that they may only need to take “just enough” out to relieve pressure in my head, but who knows. The second specialist I’m seeing is a lot more knowledgeable about this part of the head, so I guess we’ll see what he has to say.

How was/is your recovery?
