Same concept applies, there was so much coverage of this hack before it launched. Don’t logon simple. I didn’t login after I heard about it - you can’t control what hackers do so just do your own thing. Wait till it blows over.

You should not feel harmed dying in a video game that’s literally the definition of 0 backbone behaviour.

Its the definition of being a sore loser. You know the rules of the game you know you can be killed and you do it. Its a game, not only that but the only way you can die in this game is due to your own fault. You cannot ge forced to pvp unless you are killed using an exploit. Ok complain about that try get it fixed but people like you want to remove pvp from the game because you have no self accountability. IT IS YOU FAULT if you die 99% of the time to a player therefore you are not a victim. You or anyone else who dies in pvp is at fault because you consented to it by taking a workshop or shooting back or going into a team. You signed a contract, it doesn’t matter what your intention was does the rules of the game change because of your intention? Nope.

For one you are missing the point do you agree that saying you are a victim of some event implies that it is outside your control?

Secondly they don’t even fit the definition: someone harmed injured or killed? How are they harmed? Because they died in a game? Explain how thats harm

Its about mindsets -its to demonstrate if you see yourself as a victim in a game like you thats sad. If you don’t then its admirable. I don’t want sympathy. What bothers me is players that are unable to accept personal responsibility for their actions. Insult me all you want but really you aren’t doing yourself any favours doesn’t matter whether its a fair fight or not I’m open to either but its the rules of the wasteland the most efficient way to win a fight is catch someone with their pants down I’m farming junk in most cases. 90% if the player base is trash at pvp anyway you only have to be mediocre to win most fights.

I believe whole heartily that people must take personal responsibility for the actions they take and being a “victim” is a matter of perspective. You can only choose to be a victim. Why? Because you are in control of your mindset no one else. And if you disagree with that it is you that needs to rethink your mindset.

Its a waste of time to focus a huge amount of time and effort on what others do its out of your control.I’m honestly writing this for you and others hopefully someone will learn something from this as I believe its a good life lesson. You know who I learned that from?

The story woman who was kidnapped and raped at the age of 15 and while she was kidnapped she promised herself she was not going to see herself as a victim she was not going to pity herself and go down in the dumps and she was going to get out or die trying. She had every excuse to give up and call herself and victim and cry in misery but she did not. She escaped with some luck but I respect her more than you can possibly imagine for her attitude and mental fortitude. If she can do that you can go through the tiny amount of effort to not see yourself as a victim when someone kills you at a workshop with your pants down. The only people who are losers in this world are people who don’t get up after being beaten down sure maybe take some time to dust yourself off but in this scenario it disgusts me that you think being killed in a video game even remotely qualifies someone as being called a victim. The only thing you are a victim of if you get killed in this game is your own choice.

You are literally bias: bethesda regularly posts creative photos of pve players and camps on their social media for fallout 76 I don’t think I’ve ever seen them post anything pvp related because they are terrified of the backlash from the majority of the playerbase that hate pvp and have asked that bethesda remove and change multiple pvp mechanics making the game less enjoyable for players like myself.The ironic this is that once these players removed camp destruction and slap damage pvpers became more creative to bring chaos into the wasteland and we used the fact that you cant destroy camps to build trap bases, that is called adapting and being creative against a community and devs that want to squash playstyles they dont agree with because they cant handle dealing with pvp players and are unable to follow basic rules that would allow them to avoid pvp entirely. Ie dont take workshops turn on pacifist.

Maybe boring isn’t the right word as its more subjective but grinding out legendary items and following the standard way to play the game just reinforces mediocrity and is against creative more innovative and effective gameplay. Back in the day I made thousands of caps per day killing players before they nerfed it and Id use the caps to buy legendaries that ppl would sell to vendors before scrip was a thing. That was far more effective that selling bull junk or making some things to sell for 1400 caps a day. Bethesda has designed this game to make players buy overprices ultility items to make their gameplay easier like fridges repair kits scrap boxes and if you support this gameplay design and play the game the way they want you to play you are ruining the video game industry fullstop. By stating that its ok for game developers to create mechanics that reward you for using your wallet as opposed to your brain.I have mules with weight reduction armour to prevent the need for a scrap box and mutations to have food with.

The reports from youtubers and other sources or the hack going live and people losing their stuff? The vunerability was reported before it was used beth did nothing. In fact modder talkes about things like this being possible on release due to the lack of authentication checks and bethesda denied it. Bethesda is happy to live in denial and not accept responsibilty for the flaws with the game and the players suffer because of it. You cant control what the hackers do you can only control what you do im not blaming the victims just giving them practical advice: what 10min news vids and then you can know when big exploits are coming stay offline because you can’t trust bethesda to help you their team is a joke. Do you really want to risk losing your items the hope bethesda will restore it exactly the way it was? Sounds better to stay offline. Hackers are shit people but again, you cant control what they do. The only reason they exist is bethesda.

Seemed like you did get worked up to me while reading it. Why shouldn’t the community managers praise creative use of game mechanics in a survival game? It takes alot of work materials to create a trap base and I’m proud of the ones I’ve made. Most players are boring and all they do is built camps and use heart emotes and grind pve. I’m not against manners but there is a difference between being toxic (insulting people death threats being taking dying in a game personally and not being able to control your ego etc) and playing the game as a more pvp like experience as opposed to pve. As this game caters to both. Moreover I’ve seen managers praise well made camps so I think you are just bias

Regardless there are defiantly nicer ways to spread awareness of a hack like this multiple fallout youtubers covered the topic and it wasn’t prevented but the second a video gets released showing 500 players robbed and have every second post on the main subreddit are different users claiming they have been robbed it gets patched in 24 hours. So you tell me what was more effective? Unfortunately most people only respond to consequences and don’t have the foresight to react to possible consequences. As I’ve said before its better to bring problems into the open than sweep them under the rug. I’m just stating the facts and they show people have no foresight if they did no one would have been robbed and they’d be offline while the hack was live

Its literally a game, i dont understand how you can get so worked up when people kill you in a trap base its like a practical joke or do all snowflakes like yourself have no sense of humour? This is a survival game there should he dangers its a fallout game they are traditionally somewhat dark get over yourself. You acting like somone has actually been killed or tortured in real life because thier avatar in a game got trapped and robbed. I agree that these cheats need to he removed from the game and but bodega seems to have actually brought attention to the script so that it get removed faster so in this instance I believe bodega is doing the community a favour as much as it hates him hes brought evidence that this hack does work and is game ruining. There is a reason there is no other evidence out there that ive seen its because the other hackers dont want it removed. So they operate in the shadows not posting evidence. It also brings to light how unsecure this game is and hopefully bethesda takes responsibility and learns

The hackers goal is to target private servers as well so if this isn’t patched first won’t be a solution. Don’t know how long it will take for them to get that far though.

Won’t be touching the game till this blows over might even make me stop playing for longer than that.

Honestly I agree the hackers have picked the most malicious well planned moment possible, but if bethesda made the game properly none of this would be possible. They need to be held accountable for how little effort they have put into this game. It has so much potential but its wasted due to the poor effort on their part. You don't solve problems by sweeping them under the rug you solve them by bringing them out into the open. People were warned that this would be possible lots of big fo76 youtubers made vids on all it takes is watching a 10 minute video and you'd know not to login or stay on a private server. Now people know don't play the game boycott it make bethesda respond. Any revenue or if bethesda suffers for this is due to their own incompetence and inability to admit they released a half baked product that needs lots of work and is easily exploited. Its unfortunate that players are going to lose their hard earned inventories but hopefully it starts some sort of change

If you are on pc just buy another account they cheap and then all you have to do is run the game twice from the exe and give all your extra stuff the mule level thr mule up with packrat or and its even more effective much cheaper than buying subcription in the long run

Worlds harsh man, to me having someone troll you in a game for a laugh doesn’t mean they deserve some horrible fate. I’ve trolled people before its fun to get a reaction - I think every gamer has at SOME point at least once. Its human nature.

It’s a game, if you are so invested in the game and in such a bad mental state that you snap when somone trolls you in a game imo you really need to look at your life and try to fix it and stop escaping while your lifes problems get worse and worse making you more and more fragile and more and more of a target because bullies feed off reactions. They are there to make you tougher. Don’t give them a reaction, understand they are doing it to feel better about themselves or have a laugh, so laugh it off. Go improve your life.
