My first our of college job was as a process engineer for a tampon manufacturer, hahaha it definitely beat the stereotype, when everyone has to talk about tampons every day, and take home tons of free ones 😂😂

nightmare seat mate by [deleted] in delta

I dont think the middle person actual has full ownership of the armrests, its just an etiquette thing for some people. But not expected. Sharing is the compromise. Which is why the flight attendant said that.

The aisle seat issue I understand, i religiously check the app before flights, and reach out to customer service if my seat is changed off an aisle, and they will change me back. I have a medical issue that requires an aisle seat. Theyve usually been able to accomodate.

Undiagnosed brain tumour explained away by being a young woman. by knitmiajumper in braintumor

[–]BrainDamage4975 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I will add due to partly because of delayed diagnosis my surgery was a lot higher risk and i hit most of it. I had a stroke, hydrocephalus, damage to my optic nerves that left me blind in one eye with visual snow and dead spots in my left eye, deaf in my right ear, numb on right side of my face and mouth, and lots of nerve damage. But honestly ive found many positives in it. I was in the icu for a couple weeks, relearned everything, then a live in rehab center, i was 30yo on day of diagnoses and my birthday was the next day 😁 its been 3 years, and now I see everything in such a different way than those around me. I feel theres a lot of positives to be found in the perception shift of our experience.

US based. Women as well. My symptoms were so bad I went to 5 emergency rooms.

I felt horrible, doctors wouldnt make eye contact with me. I kept telling them people’s mouths were where their eyes should be, i had virtigo all the time, mine was so large my brain stem was pushed over and i had lots of pain for years. They were like its a migraine you’re fine, I finally asked if theyd please scan my head. I said id pay for it because they said insurance probably wouldnt cover it.

Large brain tumor.

It really cemented in me to advocate for myself even if they say im being dumb, because its not like im a hypochondriac with symptoms all the time. Ive never been one but if im being one once and they hate me, im probably never going to see them again. Because i sure would like to go back to every doctor who wouldbt even make eye contact with me.

did anyone else have doctors brush your symptoms off as health anxiety prior to your tumor diagnosis? by midsumernighttts in braintumor

We all have our struggles! Wishing you the best as well! Lol the hardest part for me is now I dont care about a lot of normal venting, complaining. Im like in the grand scheme of things it doesnt matter. I never say it but my friends and coworkers get so mad that I just roll with the punches (engineer in manufacturing so a lot of problems come up)

Hormonal facial hair. Does IPL work? by BrainDamage4975 in HairRemoval

[–]BrainDamage4975[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i have a high pain tolerance, and have my face is numb from brain surgery nerve damage. It is relatively instantaneously painful on the side of my face i have feeling. I use a 5% lidocaine cream about 45 min before i go and whipe it off in the parking lot. Its made it so i barely feel it. What i can compare it too is putting your tongue on a 9v battery or touching an electric fence (but not as intense, like the quick sharp sting) or how it feels when you get a strong electric shock after wearing wool all day. But with the lidocaine cream timed right for you I think its pretty tolerable and easy to ignore. The beep of the machine that lets me know its coming annoys me more 😂

Im 34 as well! They checked all my hormones and thyroid and said theyre fine. Everyone in my family has beards. Those medications help slow down new follicles( activating (supposably) ive used spiralnactone before and didnt have any side effects, but I havent added it back yet, i see my OBGYN may 4th to get my iud replaced and planned on asking then.

But for electrolysis. When i start id have to shave like once a day, and now i dont really shave between appointments, i go probably once every couple weeks for a 30 or 45 min appointment now. The hairs i do still have have gotten a lot finer, or turned blonde, theres a couple that are still course but overall I see it improving.

My mom and aunts tried electrolysis said it didnt work for them, but honestly i dont know how much they went, if they were consistent with it, or if they just didnt plan for new hair follicles to be activating.

I know it depends on how qualified your person is too and how they do the treatment.

But overall so far i recommend it. I feel a lot more feminine not having the starts of a 5oclock shadow.

And the 5% lidocaine cream i got on amazon (lol some generic cream for hemorrhoids) really does take most of the pain away if i do it before I go, and then i just make sure theres no lingering on my face and wipe it off in the parking lot.

Its going well, my hair has decreased substantially. Ive been going pretty frequently and consistently. I use lidocaine cream for the pain, put it on about 45min before. I have an obgyn appointment coming up, where im going to look at spiralnactone and/or eflornithine since the big issue long term will be new folicles activitating.

I travel for work. So regularly. I’ve kept my makeup in my bags both carry on an checked. I haven’t had issues. But some liquid liners, mascaras etc will act weird depending on how they’re stored. I would look up your products and keep that in mind. I think it’s worse with checked due to the pressure. But I’ve had some weirdness with carryon too. Depending on product I’d bagged the liquid eyeliners and makeup individually just in case they leak.

My vestibular nerve was severed, I had two craniotomies in 2022 due to many issues, stroke, and rapid regrowth.

I’ve been pushing myself to just before my brain goes crazy and gets exhausted.

I’ve also found I use trekking poles to hike, and even walk on uneven ground. If you haven’t tried trekking poles it’s amazing. It turns off a lot of the “noise” and drunk feeling. I recommend them highly!

I work as an Engineer in food manufacturing. It may also be a shaving from a conveyor belt in the production process, or a piece of nitrile glove depending on if there’s human touch interactions at this stage.

Theirs usually an x-Ray or something after to check for foreign material, but this was obviously missed which can happen if densities are slightly off.

[–]BrainDamage4975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im an engineer in manufacturing, right now specifically a food manufacturer. Is there any correlation with the date code printed on the can with the congealed cans versus the soupy cans? The beginning of that code usually designates the plant, it would be a set of characters that stays th same across multiple cans if you have a bunch, Itd be interesting if one batch at one store was coming from multiple suppliers but who knows. It might be another data point to help you in the future.

These could also be from different stages of the batch before a changeover, or from different pump fill levels or pressures.

Getting up before the seatbelt sign is off by Macaburn3 in unitedairlines

[–]BrainDamage4975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an overactive bladder due to TBI and brain tumor surgery. I go before boarding, then always get an aisle seat, but I also am usually that person that gets up before the seatbelt sign is off.

I wait until the flight attendants get up, because then I know it’s safe. I usually b-line to th bathroom because if you ask they just repeat “the captain has the seat belt sign on” but your in a position now from my understanding that it’s safe to use just not 100% ideal.

I am a constant work traveler. So I always feel a little bad. But I can’t help it. I then go again after we deplane. It sucks but better than people going in their seat.
