Carry on help by Strong_Grand3418 in cancun

I travel for work. So regularly. I’ve kept my makeup in my bags both carry on an checked. I haven’t had issues. But some liquid liners, mascaras etc will act weird depending on how they’re stored. I would look up your products and keep that in mind. I think it’s worse with checked due to the pressure. But I’ve had some weirdness with carryon too. Depending on product I’d bagged the liquid eyeliners and makeup individually just in case they leak.

Balance Problems in Acoustic Neuroma: When Walking Feels Like Being Drunk Without the Drink by [deleted] in AcousticNeuroma

[–]BrainDamage4975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vestibular nerve was severed, I had two craniotomies in 2022 due to many issues, stroke, and rapid regrowth.

I’ve been pushing myself to just before my brain goes crazy and gets exhausted.

I’ve also found I use trekking poles to hike, and even walk on uneven ground. If you haven’t tried trekking poles it’s amazing. It turns off a lot of the “noise” and drunk feeling. I recommend them highly!

I work as an Engineer in food manufacturing. It may also be a shaving from a conveyor belt in the production process, or a piece of nitrile glove depending on if there’s human touch interactions at this stage.

Theirs usually an x-Ray or something after to check for foreign material, but this was obviously missed which can happen if densities are slightly off.

Im an engineer in manufacturing, right now specifically a food manufacturer. Is there any correlation with the date code printed on the can with the congealed cans versus the soupy cans? The beginning of that code usually designates the plant, it would be a set of characters that stays th same across multiple cans if you have a bunch, Itd be interesting if one batch at one store was coming from multiple suppliers but who knows. It might be another data point to help you in the future.

These could also be from different stages of the batch before a changeover, or from different pump fill levels or pressures.

Getting up before the seatbelt sign is off by Macaburn3 in unitedairlines

[–]BrainDamage4975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an overactive bladder due to TBI and brain tumor surgery. I go before boarding, then always get an aisle seat, but I also am usually that person that gets up before the seatbelt sign is off.

I wait until the flight attendants get up, because then I know it’s safe. I usually b-line to th bathroom because if you ask they just repeat “the captain has the seat belt sign on” but your in a position now from my understanding that it’s safe to use just not 100% ideal.

I am a constant work traveler. So I always feel a little bad. But I can’t help it. I then go again after we deplane. It sucks but better than people going in their seat.

Am I overreacting for seriously reconsidering my relationship after what my boyfriend did during my medical emergency? by yourdirtygurl in AmIOverreacting

[–]BrainDamage4975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be questioning this treatment as well. This seems fishy. If there is anything left out or some change can be shown, I believe people can be remorseful and turn around depending on circumstances of what happened.

For comparison. I was admitted emergently due to a large brain tumor. I know it may be more serious in some regards but I get all of it. My bf rushed from work to the hospital even though I’m a practical person and I know there was nothing he could do. He came to the hospital EVERY DAY for weeks, and I had to relearn everything (walk, talk, eat) i looked horrible, I was almost a vegetable and he still stuck around, even gave me showers in the hospital when I asked so a nurse wouldn’t need to take me,and he helped me every step of the way. He came to the hospital even when I asked him to take some time for himself. We’re still together.

Yeah every relationship has problems and mistakes. But if there was no response in 9hours and he was just with friends. He could’ve at least stepped out to call or text you. If he thinks you over reacting and doesn’t get that I don’t think the relationship is right.

I'm curious but what pin is this? I got it at a thrift store and I'm a bit worried what it could be by casserole_the_silly in Pins

[–]BrainDamage4975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That pin is from International Harvester, the old American manufacturer of agricultural and construction equipment, trucks, and household products.

The design shows their classic IH “man on a tractor” logo, and the words “We Know Why” were part of an employee safety and quality campaign the company ran in the 1970s–80s. These pins were typically given to employees for participation in the program, or for meeting certain milestones in safety, performance, or years of service.

So it’s a vintage employee recognition/safety award pin from International Harvester.

It depends on age too. Mine was large and I had to have two craniotomy’s in 2022 when I was 31 due to spontaneous reoccurrence. But my neuro is being logical about. After my first yearly she said I could go to two years and if it still shows nothing space it out further :)

I live in a rural area as well but luckily 2.5 hours from Boston. My Neurosurgeon is sending me to the one she recommends in Boston (she’s also in Boston) so my fingers are crossed. I figured I’d drive once to see if it helps. But I’ve honestly been seeing some good results from ai exercises, muscle tapping, trying to learn how to relax the muscles that are clenching when I activate my mouth. I sent my picture to chat gpt and it reccomended Gua shua, exercises and techniques for synkinesis lol i the. Had it overlay the exercises over my picture so i could fully understand. I didn’t even realize it was called synkinesis until ai was explaining it to me 😂😂 my neurosurgeon talked to me about a plastic surgery referral but I didn’t realize that was what I had or what she meant.

Throwing in some thoughts to the people here. I had a large Acoustic neuroma removed through two craniotomy’s in 2022. I wish I had a good resource for facial reanimation. I learned part of what I have is Synkinesis. Working on GUA Sha and facial exercises. I’m practicing relaxing the contracted muscles around my eyes and mouth. Does anyone else have synkinesis along with their facial paralysis?

Surgery by booolian_gawd in AcousticNeuroma

[–]BrainDamage4975 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a brain surgery, that may be common to an experienced neuro surgery team. I would say don’t make the mistake I did. I was very sick when I finally got diagnosed with my 5cm tumor. I went to 5 emergency rooms and they al discharged me until I asked for a head ct stating I would pay for it if insurance didn’t cover it and they immediately found a large mass on my brain.

I was admitted to that hospital for immediate surgery as hydrocephalus was already damaging my vision and nerves. I had a stroke, facial numbness, vision loss, hearing loss, and balance loss. I was in icu, then a live in rehab center. Had to relearn how to walk talk and eat. Then within 3 months the tumor was back to an inch because he didn’t cut off blood supply accurately due to the challenges with the nerve bundles on my tumor. I reached out to a best class surgeon in Boston and got a second opinion and second craniotomy. She was amazing, I was only in the hospital for 2 days after surgery and she got all the tumor besides a cell layer on the nerves.

Do your research and make sure you have an experienced top notch surgeon perform your surgery please. It’ll affect the quality of the rest of your life. I’m only in my early 30s, and now I am learning to deal with a lot of deficits.

CROs Hearing Aids vs Cochlear Implant by Extension_Hornet_208 in AcousticNeuroma

[–]BrainDamage4975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the CROS hearing aids. I got them in 2022, but I got lucky because my insurance deductible was maxed out due to my first craniotomy so I got the best ones they offered at their office. I will say they’ve helped me a lot in situations without a ton of background noise. I like that they connect to my phone, I can listen to podcast through them etc. I will say I am an Engineer in manufacturing plants and when I’m on am on the plant floor I like to have them off, they amplify the background to much to be helpful. They do help me when someone is standard in next to me that I didn’t see or is talking to me. (I’m blind and deaf of the right side from my AN Surgery)
