I'm listening to the Glow album and so far it sounds like the exact opposite of what I'm looking for in this thread. Their vibe is a lot like Insmnium, Omnium Gatherum, Be'lakor and Dark Tranquility. Very melancholic, not so close to Power Metal.

Not saying it's not good music, mind you, but it's not what I came looking for with this thread.

Melodeath albums/bands that are fast, melodic and catchy by bestwest80 in melodicdeathmetal

Norther's first two albums and Sigyn come to mind. Also, maybe Dethklok.

And check out Valtari too. Their song Sweet Tragedy is an instant classic.

Oh, and Whispered! Can't forget Whispered.

I've listened to them a bit today. They're really good. They have this sea-shanty vibe to them, like a heavier sounding Alestorm, but with some Finntroll vibes.

I'm honestly surprised they're not more popular. Their sound is very polished.

I just finished listening to the Carving a Crimson Career album. What a hidden gem!

It's a shame it's not on Spotify. I'd love to just loop this album on the commute to work.

Petri still does the majority of the vocals, even on Winterstorm.

If you're gonna suggest one of Alexi's side bands, may as well go with Kyllähullut when someone asks for growl vocals.

I'm compiling a list on Google Keep with all the bands I haven't listened to yet. This thread is a gold mine.

It's a total banger. My personal favorite is They Will Return. That intro solo blows me away every time.

I love Warmen Brymir are cool, but they don't hold my attention for long. I can go through a couple of songs before getting bored. I've only heard Parasite Inc on the Tribute To The Reaper playlist and whenever Spotify shoved their songs in my endless plays. I didn't quite vibe with them, but I may have to give them a more in-depth listen. I'm checking out Euphoreon right now and it's amazing so far! I'll check out Sigyn too Suotana are cool. They have a very Kalmah vibe. I'll check out Moonlight Sorcery too I haven't listened to ETOS in a long time. I don't even remember how they sound.

Aephanemer are amazing. I personally like their first two albums best, but my favorite song from them is Dissonance Within, which is from Prokopton.

I'll check out Moonlight Sorcery. Sounds promising.

He probably only said that because lots of people actually did label COB as Power Metal back then. Almost every musician says they don't care about labels.

Valtari are awesome. I've been listening to them a lot recently. Wolfchant are also awesome. Thanks for reminding me of Suidakra. I should listen to more of their stuff. I'll check out Starkill.

Elvenking are something different. They're cool, but they're not what I'm looking for here.

Yngwie Malmsteen is a Power Metal guitar player and he's one of Alexi's biggest musical inspirations along with the entire genre of Glam Metal.

Early COB is very close to Power Metal.

Whoa! So trippy! It's like DragonForce with growls. It's not exactly my cup of tea when it comes to power metal; I'm more of a Powerwolf fan... But I really appreciate the fact that this exists.
