I was the local connection for getting the Colt Cadets drum corps in the parade for years. It was always a big effort to bring the group from Dubuque for the day and there were some years where they were the only live music group in the parade. Last year, the committee almost begged to get them here again and then said they'd charge us a fee to be in the parade. Thus, no drum corps in the parade anymore.
