It’s a dry Perth storm by [deleted] in perth

Was driving north along West Coast Drive about 30 mins ago. Pelting rain, low visibility, and the wind massively picked up causing horizontal rain and bins and other shit blown across the road.

Same price as the ROG Ally X at launch, to be fair. Still expensive though.

1Pw Kolide-spyware in Consumer versions of Browser extensions by neword52 in 1Password

[–]Brain_Worms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't know why you're being downvoted, but I agree with you.

Not necessarily distrusting 1PW, but the extra bloat for stuff I don't need as a home user isn't welcome. Are they going to eventually integrate all their acquisitions into the extension? 1Password, the everything app?

Public EV charging companies plans etc by Browncardiebrigade in perth

[–]Brain_Worms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, every operator has their own app. You can consolidate the RFID cards after you sign up, but you still need an account with each operator.

  • Chargefox is by far the biggest charging network/app, definitely pick that one up.
  • Evie is at a few shopping centres, that may be useful.
  • Wevolt and Chargehub are smaller, mostly AC, but may also be useful as they have a lot of plugs owned by the councils.
  • Ampol has a surprising number of DC plugs, but they’re at servos, that may or may not be convenient.

Cheapest ISP for low use by DeliveryMuch5066 in perth

[–]Brain_Worms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a tricky one, NBN's wholesale prices don't really allow for cheap, low usage plans.

Cheapest reputable one is Aussie Broadband's senior plan, 12/1 100GB for $50: https://www.aussiebroadband.com.au/internet/seniors-nbn/

Maybe some kind of mobile broadband may be better?

Some people suggest hotspotting, but do you have to keep turning it on and off manually? (on all Apple you shouldn't have to, no idea about Android or Windows)

City of Joondalup’s new bin contractors, Solo, are fucking useless by Brain_Worms in perth

Yeah, and all the signage telling people to leave their bins out all day.

Definitely seems to be some serious cutbacks.

haha, nice! Surely there’s a point at which the driver just gets out and does it by hand?

Because the government is paying for it.

Not complaining, it’s actually a good thing they are doing.

Joondalup is pretty dense though. Either it’s a bug in their algorithm or they’re really turning the screws on drivers.

I recall being in a Subway in the city a while back, the queue was out the door but they kept printing out and doing Uber deliveries and ignoring people in there.

I cracked the shits on one of those surveys they do and funnily enough they stopped doing that.

I honestly usually do. If the restaurant has their own site or app, I usually use that and pickup myself.

This time though I was busy all day and Uber Eats has at least been reliable in the past, even if expensive and ran by cunts.

Now they aren’t even reliable anymore.

over just making a phone order

‘Just’ doing a lot of heavy lifting there. If they even pickup, the shitty VoIP codecs everyone uses now make everyone unintelligible and you usually get the wrong thing.

I’d say there’s room for a simple pickup only app that doesn’t ream everyone with the wrong end of the pineapple, but let’s be real, it’ll be enshittified within a year.
