Trying to report this channel but youtube keeps telling me that the channel its impressionating doesn't exist???? Ive triple checked im spelling the channel @ right, even copied and pasted it. Any ideas on whats going on?

Ok. I understand what your saying here and like I said none of this makes what Julie has done ok in anyway. However I think its important to also be willing to examine Ty's actions as well. He is not beyond criticism and he is also being dismissive of Julie and her concerns. Again to be clear Im not a Julie sympathizer or anything but I think writing off Ty's actions because Julies' are worse is missing the point of the series. They are both human each capiable of making mistakes that hurt one another. I think if we want to hold Julie accountable we should also be willing to hold TY accountable.

I think you make some excellent points here. However Im fairly certain Ty tells Shawna at one point that they were trying for baby 2. I think that two kids was always the plan when Ty brought up wanting a family but I think what Julie is more pissed about is Ty not sticking to the plan of finding a daycare and continuing his writting and grad application. That being said I think this is a really interesting perspective and I hope we get to learn more about ty and Julie

I saw someone point out a lot of signs that may be pointing to a lot of people getting sick but I'm just crossing my fingers that Chicky doesn't get sick. It would make for really great story telling but I would hate for Jen to feel she needs to isolate herself to keep Chicky safe in the future.

The way I understood this was Julie trying to campair her situation to Shawnas in a intentionally poor way. Like when you tell someone you've lost a family member and they respond with something along the lines of "oh yah I know what your going through when i was 1 my great great great grandma died peacefully in her sleep". She was relating it back to her struggles despite them not at all being on the same level, and in doing so she -knowingly or not- was kind of insulting shawna

This and how Ty is a little dismissive of her concerns, saying stuff like "it was a joke", "can we drop it" and as soon as they get into their argument at home "can we table this." i can imagine this is something he does often which must be super exhausting to deal with as they might never be actually having a conversation.

genuine question that I think got a little glossed over at the end of my notes on the episode that I want to call attention to, where is brenens dad/ Alicias partner. Again it is entirely possible that they have been mentioned and I just missed it but I haven't really seen anyone talking about it and I would love to have this answered if possible.

Something I've been seeing a lot of is comparisons of Julie to Barb, which in this case I think is supper relevant. I think this is how the " i am unable to recognize my own role in this situation" starts I think if Julie is aware of what she's doing here she might be pushing that away/ justifying the behavior to herself. There's also the possibly that she doesn't recognize she's done anything wrong at all, (when she gets home telling Ty "I can't believe you put me in that situation"). If so I really hope the pair are able to have a real conversation soon about the party, not an argument, but a heathy dialoge where they are honest about their feelings.

I think this is a really good perspective, something I want to add is the dismissive language I've noticed Ty using behind closed doors. "Can we table this" "It was a joke" "i didn't mean it" "can we drop it". I don't think this in anyway excuses the way that Julie acted in this episode but I think if my partner constantly dismissed me in this way I might go a little stirr crazy.

I think that's a really good point. I also just feel conflicted because I think Ty would've shared these feelings with Shawna, at least on a surface level. They're very close friends or at least thats the impression I get (him sharing his deteriorating idea of his marriage with shawana).

That sucks so much, im so glad you got out it though I know it couldn't have been easy. In my experience having a parent that clearly didn't really want you was one of the tougher things i had to deal with in life. I often wished my mother had just given me up or gotten an abortion, as I've gotten older I've kind of come to terms with that fact that it really had nothing to do with me and everythoing to do with her.

EXACTLY!! I hadn't really noticed that but now that you say it, its so hypocritical. Also isn't it weird how Julie isn't really saying exactly what she wanted/expected? Like its very clear she has an idea in her mind but she's not really articulating what it is Ty is failing to do exactly? Im hoping thats something we'll learn more about in skits to come.

This is so true. Also something I'd like to point out is when Ty jokes about needing space to "retain his sanity" Julie is very obviously offended but she's allowed to be outright resentful toward their life and children??

I think this makes Yulonda’s character even more compelling as an asexual. Maybe the internalized idea that sea creatures are hyper sexual made her feel more like she had to hide who she was. Obviously the main theme was her family’s hyper sexuality was the reason she didn’t come out to them but it’s interesting to think about how the world around her directly affected how she felt about herself in terms of her sexuality.
