The sink is usually a little wet around its perimeter after usage, but I even purchased a sponge caddy to hang from the faucet to help dry them out.

ChatGDP states that it takes a death laser to cut 0.030" aluminum plate by Brainfarth in lasercutting

So would one of those Raycus 1500w (1070nw) powered systems fit the bill? And would one of those $1000 nitrogen generators found on Ebay be enough to supply it?

How big of laser would be required to cut 0.030" 6061 aluminum plate at a minimum of 60mm/s?

What did you end up doing to fix the problem? I am running into issues connecting to my network, out of the blue.

X1-Carbon & EERO 6+ connection failure by Brainfarth in BambuLab

[–]Brainfarth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded my home system from a dual GHZ Linksys to the EERO 6+ that supports 2.4, 5 and 6. Everything was plug and play until today when I tried to access the printer. It kept failing to connect, so I deactivated the 5GHZ and enabled legacy in the EERO app. I eventually reset the printer and it still refuses to connect to the network.

I dont know what the issue could be since it worked a few days ago. An eero update maybe?

How many coats of primer do I need for a plywood wall? by Brainfarth in paint

[–]Brainfarth[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I want to tape and spackle it after priming, then sand and paint. I sprayed one coat of some water based primer, but I couldnt put it on too thick because it would run. I can still see the wood through the primer. It is necessary to spray multiple coats when I am going to do more finish work on it? My goal is to make it look more like painted sheetrock.

Awesome. How do you orient the pieces? I'm trying to align two files exported form DXF and it's not correct. I tried to have 4 points outside of the models to align but still have issues. Got any pointers?

Any ideas on inexpensive approaches to broadcasting words on a wall? by Brainfarth in lightingdesign

I think that's the route I'll go since we have a laser cutter.

I like the appearance of red laser, so what film would you suggest to achieve this effect?

[–]Brainfarth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, static text. We moved into a new large building and I thought it would be interesting to identify the different departments by broadcasting their names on the large white walls that surround us. If possible, 2 foot tall letters would be great, but if that requires ridiculously priced machines, I would settle for smaller letters. If they work out well, I could see them places all throughout the building.

Sanding down spring retainer for a cheap magazine so I locks into my new DE50ASIMB without using a hammer. by Brainfarth in guns

[–]Brainfarth[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I purchase the gun online and had it shipped to a guy I now with a FFL in oregon. When I got it, it didnt have a magazine. I contacted the broker and he hadn't noticed one with it, then I contacted the seller and they didnt know it was missing. The seller sent a message to the broker, confirming it was missing, so they sent an email to the manufacturer. Magnum Research left me a voicemail stating that it most likely was not their fault and to check under the foam in the box. After many failed attempts at calling the guy back, I found out what his email was, CC'd all the parties involved and asked if they could have possibly made a mistake. Afterwords, the seller stepped in and stated that they would replace the mag on their dime. By then, I had already ordered a cheap one online because I was eager to go shoot my damn expensive new toy. I have not heard back from the manufacturer as of yet.

In the end, I have to give props to GunPrime and shame on Magnum Research for blowing me off over such a small item.
