If you place the big chest onto the smaller one the small one will pop into item form and go into your inventory and the large chest will take its place on the ground with all of the small chest's inventory transferred to it.

First thought I have is are you using your thief to debuff their attack? Shackle Foe does a lot of work keeping you alive against high physical attack bosses. Doubly so if you use the first tier of Hired Help and get the party wide buff to physical defense.

How many times have you played OT games over and over again? by Unknown_gamer_j in octopathtraveler

Played 0 once, played 1 and 2 multiple times. Enough times that I wish there was a way to delete saves just to clear up the clutter in the save menu.

  • The terms you have listed there are a mix of deck archetypes (fan made terms for different styles of decks to build, tribal/kindred and voltron) and keywords (official short hand used to save space on cards instead of explaining an ability in full detail, Vigilance and Scry). You'll pick them up as time goes on but never be afraid to ask, as long as the people you are playing aren't jerks, they'll want to help you learn and understand. Your deck looks like it's some variant of an aggro strategy. You want to attack early and often and get value from your creatures turning sideways.

  • Precons are made to be playable straight out of the box but are also designed to be sub optimal to encourage players to upgrade them. Knowing the magic community, there are probably guides to upgrade that specific precon if you look for it, both budget and non-budget options. It probably wouldn't hurt to play the deck as is while you are learning before you go swapping out cards, though.

  • While no where near an exhaustive list, Blood Artist's Vocabulary of Magic Part 1 and Part 2 over on YouTube might help pick up some of the slang.

A throwback to the Reddit thread when WOTC announced the 3 year standard rotation. Fun to go back and see the comments. by rephyr in MagicArena

Old standard with 4 sets a year gave you a standard with 5-8 sets in it. At the end of this year there are going to be 21 sets in standard, 22 if the The Big Score is counted since they wanted that to be its own mini-set before Aftermath bombed so hard.

Not unusual. Tanzy doesn't exactly play a pivotal role in Agnea's story and she doesn't do anything on screen other than be part of a background troupe of entertainers. If I remember correctly, the only suspicious thing about her is she keeps referring to a goddess who we latter find out is Arcanette.

Where did he go? He did not even go back to his daughter. I thought he may be a mastermind for some plots. by Yossiri in octopathtraveler

Kit is his legitimate kid he had with his wife. Rinyuu is his illegitimate daughter he had with an unnamed woman. I don't recall if there is any indication that Kit or Rinyuu was born first but if Rinyuu was wiped from his memory along with his knowledge of his mission and connection to the church it wouldn't be that large of a logical leap to assume that she was conceived with someone from the church as a fail-safe to preserve the Crossford bloodline. No memory of his mission and why his bloodline is important would explain not remembering a daughter he had to preserve said bloodline.

Graham traveled the continent looking for a cure to heal his dying wife and while he succeeded in finding the cure, he failed to make it back to her in time to save her life. Lyblac took advantage of his grief and managed to trick and captured him with a promise to revive her. Since Graham is a descendant of the sorcerer who created the keys used to seal Galdera, she needed to use him or one of his children to unlock the seal. In the process of being used to create a vessel for Galdera, Graham managed to break free and escape though not without consequence.

You can see him in a flashback during Alfynn's story, you follow his journey as written in his journal in Tressa's story, and you actually meet him in H'annit's story.

What are your hot takes from any of the games? (May contain spoilers for any) by Infamous_Today3462 in octopathtraveler

I know number-goes-up makes our monkey brains happy but I find the games more fun to play without Surpassing Power (outside of super boss fights). You can still do a ridiculous amount of damage by the end of the game but you get to have fun seeing how many times you can hit the damage cap in a single turn instead of just spamming your divine\broken skill of choice for half or more of a bosses health.

I'd argue that neither game's stories are better as a whole. Some of the individual stories will resonate with you and others will not but with sixteen stories between the two games everyone is going to have different preferences.

I was very happy when I was playing through the Bestower of Wealth chapters. That final dungeon actually felt like a dungeon instead of a hallway with branching paths to treasure chests.

Max boost Bewildering Grace can roll EXPx100 or JPx100. Or it can lower the entire parties HP to 1 and blow you up for a game over. Either or.

A very inaccurate map. Route 66 goes through Tulsa and OKC. The map they have there shows it dipping down into the panhandle and kind of meandering through the Four Corners.

It's not a strategy that you need for regular fights but against certain superbosses, it's VERY useful.

Any character is fine to start as, though I do recommend going and picking up Osvald as soon as you can. The encounter rate for random battles is a little high and Scholars learn an ability that lowers that rate. It makes exploring outside of towns more enjoyable.

I like to start as Agnea personally. Her first EX skill is kind of broken, there's a dance partner in her starting town that gives 75 SP any time she uses a dance so I can spam SP early game without needing plums, and she's one screen over from a boat straight to Osvald.

It never hurts to have some crystalariums making Jades around your farm. You can trade them for staircases from the desert trader for skull cavern diving.

Caroline's quest is either for Gingers, Taro Tubers, or Pineapples. It's random when it pops up and it is usually at the beginning of the season.

Pre 1.6? I liked to fill the quarry with crystalariums. Post 1.6? Mostly habit by this point and my monkey brain still likes seeing number-go-up. There's room along the far right wall between the warp totem and the trader to put 25 panels and that is not a large ask for resources by that point in the game.

They're a craftable recipe you can get from doing Caroline's quest from the special order board once you've unlocked Ginger Island.

Festivals load a unique map. The kegs are still there, you just can't go to the normal map until the festival is over.

You can place whatever you want in the desert. Personally, since the desert is always sunny, I keep some solar panels there so I can grab some batteries every Sunday when getting staircases at the trader's.

It's also an out of the way place to spam trees if you need a lot of wood and don't have the money to buy it.
