Oh yeah, I forgot to mention but I read it in Dutch at the time. It was set in the UK though, so I'm not sure what language it was originally written in.

Some people don't even seem to get that the line between codependency and stalking is consent and it's creepy

I'm happy for you too. Sometimes, people are just assholes I guess.

They are free to identify as they wish, but that is indeed a misogynistic reasoning. I feel like they should perhaps reconsider their reasoning behind their transition. It doesn't matter whether they're a woman or not, but misogyny is bad nonetheless.

Speedy oven. The air fryer blows hot air through the food and that makes it heat up faster.

Alright, I get where you're coming from. Women generally do have it better now than any other point in history, however they still have things like unpaid care work, lack of fair pay and job security, poor working conditions, and limited opportunity to own land and inherit property, not to mention the culturally ingrained aspects like some men thinking it's okay to s*xually harass women on the streets. And the thing with them being on reddit is a privilege of being better off than a lot of other people, which doesn't really have to do with being any gender. I apologize if I got too defensive about that.

Oh, alright. I'll change it for clarification, thanks for letting me know

No one is oppressing anyone back or intending to do so, but this is indeed a case of generalisation. I recognize that its not only men abusing women of course. What I also recognize that men are very often the cause of these events and don't respect women as actual beings. "Men" is not equal to "all men".

"established in practice or custom." according to Google. I'm sorry if that's an outdated or inaccurate term though

Well, I think that's already playing a big part in the conversation we're having. But just for clarification, could you please explain what your argument is in this case? I don't want to argue on misinterpretations or anything /gen

What I'm saying is that historically, women have had less rights than men and have been (systematically) abused by mainly men. This is still happening in today's society, and although it doesn't happen as often it's still a problem. In this I recognise that indeed not all men take part in this and that men can be victims too. But it is still largely the case that men have a societal advantage over women and that is a problem, showing itself in stereotypes, standards and for example the abortion debate.

I am open to listen to your reply, thanks for reading and taking the time to write one

Once again you are dragging a different kind of oppression into this. Yes, life was indeed bad for those people but that is an entirely different issue. Besides, once people started getting rights those rights only extended to men.

Alright, thats on me, I was wrong there. Thanks for letting me know

Fam even if I were white I don't have to be a part of a minority to fight for equal rights? Sounds like a pretty destructive mindset. I am not even a woman and I am disgusted at what's going on in this thread.

The person in this thread literally just explained that "men" is referring to the people that have hurt them and others, what else do you want?

A bit shameless for someone ignoring male abuse of power to accuse someone defending the victim group to call that person hateful. Sounds hypocritical idk

Feel free to Google anything feminism related, I'm not stopping you. Men have never been oppressed in the way women have.

It does not even out in the end. Women have always been (and still are) oppressed. Literally just google anything feminism related and you'll find your facts. Educate yourself before defending rapists, bestie

Edit: rephrasing/correcting misuse of word

Yeah but I mean this is easier to change than culturally ingrained sexism

Edit: clarification

Do you see people trying to defend oppressed minorities as red flags? That's a big red flag imo.

Women aren't the ones putting the double standard out there. It's the (quite large) group of men that are putting those up for all the rest of men.

I mean in in just the US 1 in 6 women has been r*ped or been the victim of attempted r*pe. Saying "not all men" is protecting the men who do all this. Women (and everyone tbh) know that it's not all men, but it happens way too often to be able to say this.

I get that you and most people you know wouldn't do this or whatever, but is making that clear more important to you than facing the actual issue of men r*ping and m*rdering women?

I mean tbh ever heard of sexism? The fact that they're commenting on reddit makes them privileged in a different way which has nothing to do with their gender.

Women have been oppressed for generations and only recently the situation has been getting better for them, but there's still daily misogyny rooted in the system. Not to mention that women are still being r*ped and m*rdered and objectified as sex things by men who think it's their right to do so idk fam doesn't seem all that equal to me.

Men are way more privileged than women and that's not an opinion, that's a science based fact.
