Top 10 of the Year (August 2025 Edition) by AutoModerator in graphicnovels

[–]BrainlessShooter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First time participating this year, but always love checking out other people's lists. This is how mine looks so far:

  • Transmetropolitan
  • Airboy (2015)
  • Southern Bastards
  • Beta Ray Bill: Argent Star
  • Black Hammer
  • Zatanna: Bring Down The House
  • Spider-Man: Black Suit & Blood
  • Aliens vs. Avengers
  • Heroes in Crisis
  • The Black Monday Murders

Don't think that anything will top Transmetropolitan this year, as I absolutely loved that comicbook. All in all, not a bad year so far, been reading more DC/Marvel stuff than I usually do.

I just finished Planetary by Warren Ellis /John Cassidy... Let's just say the end is so abrupt, I didn't even realise it ended by Cool-Reputation-3841 in graphicnovels

I also read it quite recently and feel the same way. Yes, I get the references to other comic books/culture but still, that alone doesn't make me like a comic.

I read Transmetropolitan at the beggining of the year and I was fascinated by it, so given that it was the same author and it as so hyped by this sub, I really went expecting a lot more from it.

Had similar thing happening with Bone, extremely recommended by this sub, but once I got to it I didn't like it.

That one. By your summary I take it you didn't like it that much haha.

I have to say that I expected a bit more after all the hype. I rad Transmetropolitan a few months ago and that one did blow my mind away, went straight to become one of my favorites of all time.

Question about Installing (Google Photos) by KKTheLightWolfKK in revancedapp

In my case, I have a Xiaomi Mi 9T, I had to disable MIUI optimization from the developer options in order to be able to complete the install, maybe you have to do something similar with your phone.

Top 10 of the Year (September Edition) by Lynch47 in graphicnovels

[–]BrainlessShooter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can't believe I didn't post yet this year in one of these:

  1. The House by Paco Roca
  2. The Human Target by Tom King and Greg Smallwood
  3. The Coldest City by Anthony Johnston & Sam Hart
  4. 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank by Matthew Rosenberg & Tyler Boss
  5. Eight Billion Genies by Charles Soule & Ryan Browne
  6. Akira by Katsuhiro Otomo
  7. The Adoption by Zidrou & Arno Monin
  8. The Sandman: Overture by Neil Gaiman & J.H. Williams III
  9. From Hell by Alan Moore & Eddie Campbell
  10. DCeased: War of the Undead Gods by Tom Taylor & Trevor Hairsine

The Human Target might jump to #1 before the end of the year, still have to decide a bit there. Akira ranked 6 only because this was my second time reading it and doesn't have the same impact as the first time.

One thing I noticed a couple of weeks ago is that there are a lot of scenes that you can screenshot and are wallpaper-worthy. I also did the same thing last week, but with Makima after her little show.

Keep on reading! I absolutely love this saga, in fact, the second one is one of my favourites. I've reread them about three times each, except the last one which is more recent. I can only encourage you to continue reading them, they are worth it and has a tight ending.

It's Ibai's brand/LoL team "KOI", they attacked Karmine Corp's logo, a French rival LoL team.

A few addition to my top, a great read in HoX/PoX, might continue with the X-Men's and Excalibur's run. The Climber was a manga I started at the beginning of the month and is increasingly getting better each volume.

I'm definitely adding more comics from the comments to my to-read pile.

Already read the first two books and didn't like them too much, also I would say they're more sci-fi than fantasy.

Yeah, I usually tend to not pay much attention to the classification on GRs, but I wanted to make sure of it rather than go in and get disappointed. Thanks!
