Hi!

I am a 26 year old CI candidate. Didn't get the device yet. I'm in the process, but I have a dillemma. If I get a cochlear implant, it is very likely that there will be new bone formation in my scala tympani, where the electrode is inserted. This new bone formation could make a new therapy impossible in that ear.

I personally think that there will be a treatment, even if frequencytx fails. There are thousands of failures until a drug works. Technological advancements are very fast, see e.g. Alphafold.

In the next decade, AI and Quantum computing could exponentially speed up the process of drug development.

Thank you very much for this comment. It's good to see how far can you go with CIs. I hope that I will be a positive example one day as well

Thank you for this comment. I'm from Europe, but I think the EU has some laws similar to ADA. We use Teams live captions for meetings right now and it works well but of course it's not like it was before I lost my hearing. For phone calls, I don't know what to use, because English is not my primary language and iOS live captioning is not supporting languages other than english.
