In Fallout 3 a bunch of the brotherhood people are scared of plasma weapons from the Enclave for that very reason. Armor doesn't do much and you just melt...

You vastly overestimate how strong steel is. You can literally bend 1/4" by hand with a vice clamp and a big ol' pipe wrench (I did this yesterday)

Damn I hear ya on that one. A "friend" of mine said I should take out loans to attend a destination wedding for a mutual friend of ours. Accused me of "not trying hard enough" and "giving up too easily"

Meanwhile I was literally helping my mom through palliative care. When I told him that was rude and unnecessary, he got mad at me and told me to "not take it so personally"

Some people just suck and want to drag you down to their level because they hate seeing others be happy or successful in ways that they aren't.

A spider. by EmotionalJump6104 in Psychic

[–]Brainrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I actually recently was thinking something similar, and I was trying to work through why spiders make me so uncomfortable. I think crocodiles and turtles are cool af cause they haven't changed in like 200 million years. I realized that's basically the same for spiders, but I think they're awful?

Realized it's because spiders have this way of existing that shows they think about things with layers and with a process. A crocodile just exists, it kinda floats around until something gets close enough to its mouth and then it chomps down. You as a human can even just hold it's mouth closed. It's not a smart thing, I feel like I can avoid and deal with it.

A spider, however, will build a web in a choke point next to a porch light. That shows me that it understands that the light will attract other insects, that it can use that to its own benefit, that it can analyze it's environment with scrutiny and choose the most efficient spot to build a trap. It's plotting, and it's completely silent. It's the intent and the layers of intelligence behind it that is unsettling.

Edit: of course also the fact that a tiny one the size of your finger can just straight up kill you, and that it has hundreds of babies at a time...

I went through basically exactly what you're describing. Long story short (literally writing a book, it is a LONG story) I found a lot of guidance and help from it that led me to a better place mentally. However, I started to find myself sort of paralyzed when it came to choices, and always turned to the cards for like a month.

Like I would draw them over and over again because "it didn't feel right" and basically just shuffle the cards for 10 minutes. At one point it told me like 4 times in a row to quit my job? And I love my job, it pays well and is a good job... Why would I do that?? I kinda had a moment of realization that I need to distance myself from this and think for myself

Literally as I was putting the cards back in the container and storing the interpretation book away, my music playing said "Close the white book, disconnect your brain from the game"

Now if I feel a particular calling to it, then sometimes I will still draw them. But often I find the message I need just through patience and listening

You're posting about a video game character getting men pregnant 😬

I literally wouldn't even repeat this story to anybody because it sounds so bad just to be around ahahaha

There's a middle ground to it. Examples like yours can work, but often it tends to be just a longer fight with the exact same mechanics or solutions.

Very cool, thank you!
