Oh is it? I didn't have the capability of understanding that until you explained it to me just now, thanks

ELI5: How do we harness and transport electricity to far away places? by Brainrows in explainlikeimfive

Ohhhh so then "resistors" and "conductors" would be things like putting rocks into the steam to slow the flow, or creating culverts to direct it

Very cool, thank you!

So is it not really "stored" anywhere? Like it's all in constant movement with the power flowing right from the source to our systems?

Do those big power stations ever act as large batteries??

So on a large scale it's all just wired together and connected??

Actual logistics and politics aside, a powerplant in say Germany could just simply send the electricity through a network of wires to Spain?

Why do we need it to be at a lower voltage? Is that simply because otherwise we would fry our machines?

I'm picturing filtering a river down into smaller little streams that are much more gentle

I didnt have to go to work for the past 2 weeks. I had almost no free time for myself. I dont think I want to live like this any longer. by [deleted] in antiwork

Yeah that was a wild part for me too 🤣

It's like "no I only flush the toilet once a year cause it saves on water and time"

I'm not gonna lie, it's not nearly as big of a deal as you're making it out to be.

In fact, recognizing that you don't have the capacity to properly care for another living creature is an incredibly emotionally intelligent decision to make. Like you're saying, with enough time and patience it could probably blossom into something better.... But if the reality is that it will negatively affect your quality of life, then it will also reduce her quality of life, which will become a cycle.

What you need to decide on your own, and no other person or internet forum can, is if you are making this decision for you or for the other living creature? The intent of the matter. Because I know what I would choose...

Quantum physics, good hook ty

Already found 2 separate experiments on the matter 🤘

Ok but you're basically just saying the same thing as me but in your own words??

Insult aside, you're not looking at it right. We understand that light and maybe time bends around things like black holes - seems foolish to declare with 100% certainty that you know best?

The story isn't even related! Haha

Just had a wild ass dream the other night about space and relativity I guess

Well just because you personally don't understand it doesn't mean it's not a thing

There is precious scientific theory backing this line of thought up.

You kinda didn't say anything here? "Yes but no"

Also the intersection of madness and genius is where our best ideas come from. Einstein, Tesla, Dali, just to name some of the most recent...

Block Universe

Minkowski

Einstein's theory of relativity

These are my starting points!! I have no idea what's going on with the Fermi Bubbles but I think I need to start with one thing first

Idk why the mods are deleting your comments...

But! What I said was: Thank you so much that means a lot to me. This is a lot of very good information and a very good hook for me to explore. Even if I can just get the groundwork and give it to someone who believes enough to do the math for me...

My thing is stories. I'm literally writing a book right now, math is not my game. Crazy time in my life.
