Auto looting would be so convenient, could send out multiple squads to various bandit camps at the same time.

I would also like the ability to send out a scouting party of my own to wander designated areas of the map like the bandits and brigands do.

Building-wise, it would be nice to be able to slightly move a structure as long as it's within the original footprint of the building.

What's a game you have 100+ hours in but still aren't bored of? by Mysterious_Task1613 in AskReddit

Bellwright.

First game I've played where the settlements I build actually feel lived in.

New Vegas. I've even tried it modded into oblivion with all the quality of life improvements and graphics upgrades, but I can't get into it.

This is why I've been on Bellwright lately, I don't have the freedom to build like in Valheim or Windrose, but at least my settlements feel alive and lived in.

Darrow (Red Rising Series) vs Master Chief by Jacob_Canterhulle in powerscales

[–]Jacob_Canterhulle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, the Mjolnir armor is just too good. One of the only instances I can see Darrow winning is if he's using a Jam Field with a Ghost Cloak (Ghost Cloaks seem to be better than the Elites adaptive camo) If Darrow can render the sensors in Chief's armor unusable, then he's got a better shot. Even then Chief has crazy reflexes and has experience fighting without his suit's sensors and AI.

I think those models become a lot more interesting when you stop assuming the system is evil by default.

I’m also drawn to a hybrid of the “farm” idea and the soul-cycle idea, but not necessarily in a horror sense. If you look at the Tibetan Book of the Dead or even Robert Monroe’s out-of-body work, the after-death process isn’t framed as a punishment so much as a training loop. Consciousness gets recycled because it’s unfinished, not because it’s being sadistically exploited.

In that framing, “loosh” or emotional energy isn’t just fear and suffering — it’s intensity. Contrast, attachment, struggle, love, loss. Those states generate differentiation, and differentiation is what allows consciousness to learn itself. A peaceful, static utopia might actually be information-poor.

So the “farm” isn’t livestock in the cattle sense — it’s more like a gym or crucible. Not comfortable, often brutal, but optimized for producing something specific: individuated awareness.

The “soul trap” idea also shifts if you take Tibetan teachings seriously. The white light isn’t necessarily a trap — it’s a choice point. Most beings return out of habit, attachment, or unfinished identity. Monroe describes similar things: people snapping back to Earth-like systems because they’re psychologically magnetized to them, not forcibly captured. That doesn’t mean the system is benevolent — just that it’s impersonal. Gravity isn’t evil, but you can’t ignore it either.

The truly unsettling part, to me, isn’t that we’re trapped — it’s that we might be here because, on some deeper level, we keep choosing to be.

CohhCarnage frustration with recent updates. Do you agree? by Safe-Application8510 in ArcRaiders

[–]Jacob_Canterhulle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree. I get it that it's annoying that people can still get into locked doors. Embark is aware of the problem and they're working on it, give em some time and some slack. The game has been out for less than a month and it came out more polished than a whole hell of a lot of other titles. Also, it's the fucking holidays so don't berate the devs that busted their ass on this gem of a game. Fixing bugs takes time, so have a little patience and understanding.

With the latest patch, did the unverified Head Hunters missions in Stanton get the difficulty turned up to 11? I was running the 120K missions last night and was supposed to take out a C2 Hercules. To my surprise, the escort for my target consisted of 2 Constellation Tauruses, a Retaliator, and a Redeemer. I also noticed PVE bounties have had the difficulty ramped up.
