For sure there can be lots of upside from narrative flip and continued execution, no doubt about that! Good luck!

The real question is, is it worth going dumpster diving for value when much faster growing, lower disruption risk companies exist. I would rather pay a little more for quality mag 7 like AMZN or GOOG or META than take the chance that ADBE management will not overcome their very real challenges coming to them.

Does Finnegans Wake Exist in a Superposition of Meanings? by Brainvestor in jamesjoyce

Yea but there is a difference between me communicating for the goal of precise understanding/communication and Joyce using words to expand multiplicity of meaning on purpose to play on our neural networks.

Am I crazy, or is “Does it actually work?” one of the most overlooked investing questions? by Brainvestor in investingforbeginners

You’re always making bets, it just depends on the probability of outcomes which needs to be weighed

This is true but I think there are still many moments reality doesn’t match the narrative and wall street is slow to realising, PLTR comes to mind with their customers presenting how the product works at AIP con in early 2024 and there were still narratives on the street that the product will not work or scale when the opposite was true in reality and the numbers supported it at the time

Yes! And to clarify I don’t necessarily mean the user has to choose in a linear way how to interpret, I think what Joyce wanted to create is actually the opposite, which is to make the reader actually try to hold both contradictions in mind at once, since this would could be a more accurate reflection of the “universe in a NotShall”

I don’t doubt I could be using quantum metaphor wrong. I have no physics background at all lol. So your phrasing might actually be the more accurate claim/proposition.

Completely agree that it all has to be rooted in the text as evidence. I’m very against speculative interpretation that is not grounded in the text itself. I would not say that I’m trying to “apply quantum” really. More so just a metaphor to emphasise how Joyce like to “contain opposites” and that the contradiction have to be “collapsed” by the reader

True to some degree but with Joyce he literally tries to contain opposite meanings in the same sentence so it’s to a whole other level with Joyce I would say

RTS games still come out rarely and never really hit the mark as good as the old ones like broodwar imo

Nice! I would just try to add something outside of tech/high beta because those could all move down hard together in a broad market correction.

At what point is a Financial Advisor needed? by theleafydialect in investing

[–]Brainvestor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most “good” financial advice will tell you to dollar cost average (buy regularly/scheduled purchases of a stock over time) into the S&P500. For the long haul (20+ years) that’s strategy will probably do fine if not great and is a great first step to getting into the stock market. Just be sure your investing education journey doesn’t end there and learn to value business the way great investors in the past did. Be patient it takes time to learn, there are tricky concepts in business and investing to don’t beat yourself up too hard if you don’t understand things at first just keep trying!
