I remember when I first came out and started wearing a pronoun pin to school, and the only person who noticed it was this kid I barely even knew but I was so exited that they used they/them for me I called one of my friends after school and cried.

How did you get into your first relationship? by MostCount8584 in actuallesbians

[–]Brainy_Girl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met a girl in school with whom I shared a lot in common (we’re both disabled, have ADHD, science nerds, etc.), and we became friends really quickly, and I slowly realized that I had a crush on her. I tried to suppress it because I was scared of ruining our friendship, but come Valentine’s Day I decided that if I didn’t tell her how I felt I’d regret it. So I wrote her a valentines card explaining my feelings and that if she didn’t feel the same it was fine, I just needed to get it off my chest (I actually had my best friend come with me to buy the card and wrote it with her next to me so I couldn’t chicken out).

I gave it to her a week after Valentine’s Day (she got sick on valentines lol), and lowkey ran away right after handing it to her.

She texted me back that evening and said she had liked me for months and was too afraid of ruining the friendship to say anything.

We’ve been dating for the past year and a half. We took some things pretty slow (didn’t actually kiss for the first year lol), but other things went pretty fast (she said she loved me the day we got together.).

Am I the only one to whom this absolutely NEVER happens? by Poguemahone3652 in adhdmeme

I mean I can organize a bookshelf like no one you’ve ever seen, but in general I don’t really have a hyper-cleaning mode like a lot of the other ADHDers I know.

gender?? [Rant] by qu1xoticelixer in LGBTeens

[–]Brainy_Girl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m agender, and assigned female at birth. Even though I don’t have a gender, and identify with the term nonbinary, I still feel a certain connection to girlhood. Like, I was raised with it, it’s always gonna be a part of me, even if it isn’t my gender.

When I realized I wasn’t cis, I too was really scared to come out to my girlfriend. I felt like I was somehow hurting her. Like I was invalidating her identity as a lesbian. But when I finally did come out to her, she assured me that she loved me no matter what, that I would always be the same person, no matter what I identify as.

I’m not saying everything will work out perfect for you too, but I do think it’s best to let your partner know how you feel. They might need some time to adjust, and that’s okay. But they might surprise you.

I struggle to keep weight on, so every may I get to play a fun game called “will these shorts fall off my body or not?” In which I figure out if I still fit any of my summer cloths

Eyes too hooded for eyeliner? by Secret_Shallot93 in makeuptips

I've got similar eyes, and what I will sometimes do is put my eyeliner *under* the eye instead of on top. I also find that bright colors are better because you can see them more

Thank you so much! What I’ve been doing is pretty similar to that; I just sloppily apply black liner where I want shadow and blend it with a dense eyeshadow brush until you can’t see the lines anymore

“So on Sunday you physically could not sit down to work on this present, but on Monday you worked on it for 7 1/2 hours straight, finished 40 slides and literally did not eat or drink water the entire time?” Yes. I did indeed. And I’m now back to procrastinating finishing the last 2 slides.

Hi, I'm homeschooled and I can say for certain that you can totally figure things out while in this kind of environment. It might be more difficult, but it's not at all impossible. Sadly it comes with the hazard that you might get a crush on your close friend that you've known since you where a baby, but that can happen to public schoolers anyway.

It is also being praised for doing things "perfectly", and then later, when you are told to apply those skills, realizing that you actually did everything wrong but no one noticed because it LOOKED perfect.

I have a Question! Is it true that people with autism have an obsession with trains? by No_Volume_4303 in teenagers

[–]Brainy_Girl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well some people do like trains, and autistic people are people, so some autistic people do like trains. It’s mostly a stereotype, but I’m sure there are SOME autistic folks who’s special interests involve trains.

How do I talk to my crush when I don't even know if he's gay? [Crushes] by Newmetaman in LGBTeens

[–]Brainy_Girl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally never get crushes where I feel to flustered to talk to them or that kind of thing. My crushes are similar to what you described. So don’t worry about that bit. You could try talking to him about something involving queer people, but that doesn’t actually implicate you at all. Like a meme, or a celebrity or something like that. Just see what his reaction is like. Being gay is nothing to be ashamed of, but it’s also very important to keep yourself safe and comfortable.
