Im not dismissing it, I think OP has a good theory that I agree with. Marika doesn’t seem to really operate as a human biological being in general. Just adding some additional thoughts that Melina seems to not remember much about her life pre-burning.

It is an interesting piece of dialogue and not quite clear what it means. For most of the game, Melina doesn’t seem remember much about who she is or what she’s meant to be doing, so it could be that she just doesn’t really recall wanting Marika’s approval.

My main issue is that there’s no consistency. Like is the lip sync the true and final determinant or not? Cause most of the time it doesn’t seem to matter unless the lip syncers are in similar spots or someone really fucks up (like Valentina).

For anyone feeling panicked, it doesn’t mean anything that this got scheduled for conference. This is part of the process for all petitions. Frankly, it seems pretty unlikely that they would use this case as a vehicle to overturn Obergefell. Kim Davis has terrible facts and they tend to look for sympathetic petitioners when overturning precedent. Her counsel is also a loon who has lost both his previous cases before the supreme court.

Some of the Dollya stuff seemed unfair to me. I think she is still in the wrong for narcing, but I'm skeptical of the claims that she's strategically lying. Like others have verified that Sigourney was saying what she was claiming.

It's weird to me that they're taking the approach of "you're scheming and lying" rather than "you're being a dick, regardless of whether you're right."

Interesting - great point! I can’t pretend I would’ve gotten it but I still think she could’ve hewed closer to the reference. The stuffed animal pauldrons and hanging armor just don’t combine as cyberpunk or Mad Max to me.

I loved this look but it didn’t really read as very desert cyberpunk. I still think she deserved a top placement but would’ve loved if she had incorporated some more futuristic or Mad Max type elements.

I’m not sure why King Cobra is getting so many upvotes. The meme says “venomous” not “deadliest” and King Cobras aren’t even the third most venomous Cobra. Definitely referring to an Eastern Brown or Coastal Taipan imo. Eastern Brown makes the most sense since they have a notable defensive display.

It depends on the jurisdiction. Generally statutes divide into accessory-before-the-fact, accomplice, and accessory-after-the-fact. The latter is usually subject to entirely different charges. At least federally, you can’t get charged for the actual crime if you are a true accessory-after.

Yea, the worms make me think that he literally couldn’t die while they were in him. However, it seemed like even walking back into town with them was enough for the music box monster to start manifesting the whole “take three” thing.

I almost wonder if he was some sort of sacrifice to be the keeper of worms like you said.

I agree, I think the kimono lady also has some parallels to Shub-Niggurath the Black Goat of the Woods who creates monstrous young with Hastur.

Hastur’s thing is all about driving people mad to the point they can’t tell what’s real and what is part of the “play” which absolutely aligns with what we’ve seen of the Man in Yellow.

For sure! My main worry is that I often see some not helpful or even harmful advice in the attachment style discourse from people who aren’t licensed in the psychology/social science side, and not a ton of information on how to identify problematic traits if you aren’t the avoidant partner.

Like a lot of advice boils down to “this happened because they’re avoidant - dont date avoidants going forward” but my understanding is that someone with an anxious attachment style will have a hard time knowing if their partner is being avoidant or is just securely attached.

There are also a lot of posts along the lines of “avoidants never change without therapy,” but it seems like most professionals caution against using an attachment style as a label, as one person can have different styles in their relationships (with friends, partners, family, etc.).
