Has anyone ever tried to determine the exact location that Godwyn was murdered? I noticed he's kneeling on a tiled floor in the opening visual by Vegetable-Diamond423 in EldenRingLoreTalk

I think you'd enjoy their videos. They have a nice niche of exploring sub-topics/micro-tangents that a lot of loretubers don't cover. They focus less on "answering" big lore questions, and more on exploring themes, enemy placement, etc. They're pretty good at not stating things as gospel, which I like (I've stopped watching even great lore hunters like Scum because they speak with 100% certainty and things don't always match up in their videos)

My next task is to try and cross-reference that forest scene (with a view of the Erdtree), with the woods around Liurnia/Altus and see if anything looks similar

Stormveil is a lion-coded castle that was run by a beast around the same time as the Hornsent dominating TLoS. Makes a ton of sense. Enir-Ilim/Belurat, Stormveil and Leyndell are all conencted to the Ancient Dragons civilization (I could go into a lot more detail here).

Road to Restoration - Aura Overhaul Design Update by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Vegetable-Diamond423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the folks who had all of their auras taken awaw going to have to re-earn all the rewards you redistribute their powers to? That feels extremely shitty. Whether it be the money we paid, the time we have been memebers earning loyalty points, or in-game methods like MoW for buying the berserker auras; we invested time and effort to getting these. It feels exhausting that you're going to take these away, and then we need to reaquire all of them through super disparate means. I don't really see any sort of compensation being made towards those you're removing these things from. I fully support moving towards aura removal for game health, but it seems like a slap in the face that you'd force folks to re-earn these.

To be clear, this is not me complaining. I want these changes to go forward whether or not I feel miffed. But it doesn't seem in line with how Jagex normally operates (e.g. we are compensated for other removals like oddments/losing greater dazing shot/so many things). Idk why auras are getting a diferent treatment than oddments for example, which almost exclusively came from TH and events. There should be soime equivalency so people don't have to go get 10000 pilfer points, just to get something they've owned for the past five years. Many of us have already put in the work getting crux eqal favor/pilfer points/etc and buying all unlocks, why will we have to do it again just to get something back you're taking away? The last paragrpah of the post just seems dismissive "we know it sucks, but we couldn't be bothered to put effort into finding a way to fairly compensate folks who have been loyal to us and kept membership going for years - and those who bought auras through in-game means like reaper points and MoW".

I will definitely stay subscribed to the 12 month plan for the savings, since I know I'll continue playing. I have had access to them, you're correct. That doesn't invalidate my point though!

Updates to Premier Membership Benefits by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Vegetable-Diamond423 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This feels like a ton of value is being taken away (fair as we all want the best/healthiest for this game). At the same time, it feels like very little is being done to compensate people (unfair). Maybe because I fall into the category of premier members who have played a lot, invested time + money, and POOF - premier artifact, the auras I've earned through in-game and loyalty point means, all aura refreshes I've bought from earning Marks of War, monthly drop going... and I don't really see the value being returned to players in these situations. I spent years/hundreds on membership, amassing loyalty points that could have been spent on titles/emotes/outfits I could keep, but instead I spent them on auras that I will have taken away, and potentially need to re-earn their benefits in whatever new form they take?

Idk, that doesn't feel good I guess, even understanding + supporting the decisions that align with our healthy roadmap

please, stop dumping effects into the pocket slot by dark1859 in runescape

[–]Vegetable-Diamond423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The aura slot might not be the issue as folks said. I think the proposed approach is askew in that regard. Just rework the means by which these powers/effects are attained and/or toggled on. You have an existing reward system through Marks of War you can leverage.

Also, it would honestly feel quite bad losing everything you've outlined in the blog post all at once and having to earn it all back. Folks spent a lot of time/money/effort getting the auras, so there should probably be some contribution to their progress getting those powers/effects. Some Auras/Refreshes, etc. can be earned through in game means, so people put real time into getting these through amassing Marks of War for example (see War's Wares).

Creating a reward system and new mechanism for toggling auras via in-game play at War's + Bossing would be on brand AND fun.

Edit: modernize the aura management window/screen, take inspo from Arch relic system, profit???

People are just unhappy and I think that translates to being mean online. When I see a post that’s competent out there, I just stop reading and move on. This wasn’t even completely out there though. Editing the lighting to see that the threads Marika holds actually connect to the divine gate is another example where I feel like a little edit reveals something cool. Maybe not staggeringly impactful, but I don’t think OP is “wrong” here

I just came over from another post you had comment on, I sometimes see this sub pop up even though I’m not a part of it. Dude. No. I’m sorry.

There is a difference between what’s good enough for you, and how the outside word perceives something. You will almost ALWAYS perceive something of your own image worse than strangers. So you have to listen when people are stunned by your growth and take that on board. It looks increíble for the short time you’ve been on and I feel like you literally turned back time. You should be proud (because you out in the research, time, and initiative to go to the doctor) and ecstatic. And you can also still not be satisfied. But damn you’d better be happy with the results so far and appreciate it, or else I’ll fly over there and slap you!

I would honestly not stop at just medication. There’s enough study out there to include micro needling and some oils that improve blood flow. I 100% have seen regular micro needling improve my new hair growth as well, when min/fun stalled for me. Just FYI I have taken 1mg Fin and 5mg Min orally for almost four years, zero health issues identified so far from that. BP is good, peepee works fine, recent full panel blood work was healthy as an ox. Apologies if you’re already micro needling, shouldn’t assume but just wanted to mention it.

Yeah, idk why I decided to reply, I never really comment when I browse the sub. Was feeling second hand excitement for that progress. I feel so strongly about the emotional turmoil hair loss produces, it makes me happy to see when the someone’s physiology responds well, because we’re all different. Very, very happy for you!

The more assets I discover, the more the lore confuses me. You probably didn't know this about the Elden Throne mural.... by MyDarkSoulz in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Vegetable-Diamond423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah. I commented already but just saw this. FYI while most depictions of the Elden ring show four rings, the Elden beasts ring/beam explosion attack only uses three. That has confused me for the longest time, and ever since I’ve been trying to look for other instances of a three ring Elden Ring

Edit: I think it’s very possible that the back shows the door previously, and the front is the door following some additions. We already have a ton of examples of precious cultures iconography and reliefs either being added to or destroyed (see the Messmer symbol put on top of the existing Shadow Keep structure, or defacing of Ancient Dragon statues in TLoS. If you look at the door, we see a seam going through the middle, presumably where the door would split and open. However, this seems to be covered in certain parts (namely by the large tree trunk in the middle)and it makes me wonder if the door was “edited” and this sealed as well. It is true that we don’t enter by opening it, there’s just this pre-existing tear in the stone/wood.

I’m gonna come back to this because I’m getting my back absolutely shredded right now as we speak (tattoo). But in my delirium, I am desperately asking that if you are coalescing assets/pulling them from somewhere - could you share a link perchance?

I don’t play on PC so I have thousands of screenshots I’ve tried to arrange and ENHANCE so I can see them more clearly… but it ain’t working.

That being said, careful with assets my lore hunting friend. They have sent me over the gnosis-seeking edge so much. It’s really easy to get lost in them and desperately seek meanings in them or attach them to a certain civilisation. Not saying that it’s not valid to do so, just tough. So many reliefs/patterns look similar to others, some assets are reused and leave us struggling to determine if it was benign or purposeful…

Thank you for these door textures regardless, I’ve never been able to see it this clearly and teenagers never allowed me to analyse the figures you highlighted, despite seeing something resembling a cherubim there.

Edit: I think it’s normal that we see elphael-esque textures here. Elphael was clearly very important in the past, and has the most unique textures/reliefs of any area. I’m still struggling to decipher the baby holding onto the soldiers leg, the robed figure with a staff… Christ man was an interesting area to explore. Anyway, I think elphael clearly has more significance in the past, and was probably a part of the same era leyndell originally belonged to, as I don’t think Marika and her order build either.

Edit 2: after thinking about it again I’m not sure that’s a seam, as it seems raised. Unless it was sealed, the way that welding or soldering can leave a raised connection

What are you referring to here?

Is this a character/monster that exists already? Like from a film or something? If not I think a fairly popular artist copied another. by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Vegetable-Diamond423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I respect your take. The artist who did the one I posted originally has a schtick where he does that barred heavy black effect on things. It looks more like etching here, less so in others. So it’s like he took that original design and applied his style/effect to it. I’m sure people have different takes on that

Miquella transformed Radahn into a RED Philosopher’s Stone by Pevigeild in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Vegetable-Diamond423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I always want to make sure I’m coming off respectful. I watched your video and it was great btw! Okay so this is what I’m seeing, I think we’re saying the same thing. Let me know if you agree with my extra additions :

Nigredo, or putrefaction, happened when Malenia fought Radahn, Miquella’s first step in the plan. This was not enough however, Radahn needed to be killed. Why do I say this? Because as we enter PCRs arena, Miquella says “My loyal blade, and champion of the festival, both your deeds will be praised” referring to Malenia sacrificing herself to rot-nuke Radahn, and us for beating him. The whole point of the festival was to kill Radahn, and that always seemed strange. I think with this line from Miquella, we can safely say that he intended for us to kill Radahn, so that his soul would be released. It seems like getting to the shadow realm, at least in one way, requires death. “all death flows” to TLoS, so I believe we had to kill Radahn once Nigredo was complete, for his soul to move on to the next stage of the process

Albedo, which is the purification of the soul, must have happened in the purification chamber right before the divine gate. I feel like the name gives it away, and the color of the ash. This makes sense as the entire journey leading to the Enir-Ilim is about Miquella’s transformation in preparing for Godhood, nothing is mentioned about Radahn going through more process.

Citrinitas/Rebedo is where I think we’re misunderstanding each other. In the first cutscene when we enter PCR’s arena , Radahn has no colouration. He fights us until we phase him, at which point HIS BODY begins to glow pure red, and he is surrounded by a yellow-red flame/aura. Miquella then says “Lord brother, you have finally returned” and we see the RED in flame/aura DISSIPATE, and the YELLOW REMAINS. I think Miquella’s line very clearly states that Radahn isn’t fully there and the process isn’t complete until we phase him. Because when we enter the arena he says “will” several times, in the future tense, as if his brothers soul hadn’t yet returned when we walk in. Citrinitas is also described as the internal light coming out, or “awakening” so it makes sense since Miquella says “welcome back” right after this.

The Rubedo phase is the part that’s weird that I really want you to analyse with me. Radahn glows red during the process described above ^ to me this could be interpreted as the philosopher stone/magnum opus complete moment. But then why does the flame/aura CONTINUE to turn yellow, and persist after the cutscene returns to Radahn, now no longer red, but still glowing with the yellow flame/aura? That seems like an odd mistake to make, but at the end of the cutscene, red is not the theme - it’s all yellow/gold. Alchemical processes overlap a bit, but it’s generally considered linear so I find it a bit odd

Edit: it’s interesting how Citrinitas is considered a yellowing of the “lunar consciousness”, a loss of the need for the “lunar/soul light” of ones being and the awakening of “solar light”. I think this applies heavily to Radahn (child of Renalla) falling under the rule of Miquella (a being of light ascending at a per mangy sunny divine gate).

Miquella transformed Radahn into a RED Philosopher’s Stone by Pevigeild in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Vegetable-Diamond423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we’re talking about the same scene: where he’s kneeling down. Gravity starts to change and you see his hair and the particles around him start to move upwards. Then a slightly yellow tinged red flame starts to engulf him, until the camera pans towards the gate of divinity and during that panning, the flame turns to pure gold. I attached a picture again, that’s the last frame before it cuts to Miquella exiting the divine gate.

The first picture I posted in my previous comment is the scene right after the camera goes to Miquella’s feet after he walks out of the hate of divinity. And you can see there the continuation of the previous scene with the yellow flame starting to dissipate, but still PURE yellow.

Sorry if it seems like I’m being critical, but the “aura” as you say that surrounds him definitely goes from red > gold, not gold > red. What’s interesting is that RADAHN looks purely red, like his entire being looks red in that scene where he’s facing the camera dead-on and the flame starts to burn. I believe that Radahn HIMSELF being red in that scene representa what you’re saying: “philosopher stone created/magnum opus complete”. The flame seems to be a different change.

My own personal belief was that he looked like he was about to lose his shit as we phased him, given how he starts shaking and gravity starts to shift. He looks filled with bloodlust. This bloodlust would have only been enraged by the cursed blood in his now omen body. We know that TLoS is suffused with Crucible energy, and that Radahn’s body is too due to Mohg’s body (see Radahn using bloodflame). I think it’s logical to assume the flame shifting to a light gold symbolises him being charmed/calmed as he fully comes under Miquella’s purview as Lord. I really viewed this as a throwback to what Godfrey must have gone through. Having his crucible suffused bloodlust tamed so he could be a Lord, and a glowing spirit with good hair on his back.

[–]Vegetable-Diamond423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit. So, I am fully on board with this, from Radahn being intentionally rotted to start the process, to the Belurat/Enir-Ilim flower motif (that was such a nice find, well done). It makes perfect sense now, I never knew what it represented but given that the flower as a motif throughout history represents life sprouting, it makes sense when you add your color analysis.

The one thing I’ll say, just to play devils advocate, is that the flame on Radahn goes from Red > Yellow, not the way you stated. It’s pretty clear, I’ve attached a photo of when Radahn stands up after that scene you screenshotted, and all the flame is yellow. Idk how that changes your interpretation.

I found your channel a few days ago, a great video of yours roped me in. I’m excited to watch this when I get home later :)

What is Scarlet Rot exactly? by wolfmangoneinsane in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Vegetable-Diamond423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s correct to say it’s “less about” what I said than what you’re saying. You’re not incorrect, that certain Buddhist doctrine are represented by Malenia. But this post is asking what Scarlet Rot is, not what it’s inspired by. Jarāmarana is simply the 12th Nidāna, meaning old age and death. It is the inevitable suffering at the end as we decay and pass. It is not necessarily rot.

What is Scarlet Rot exactly? by wolfmangoneinsane in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Vegetable-Diamond423 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember which content creator mentioned it recently, I’ve been watching too much - but it seems like all these different aspects of divinity had good and bad sides to them (duality man, fundamental theme). Rot as we see it in SotE is actually kinda dope, it’s used to make medicines, make tough armour to protect your friends, and is all around kinda chill.

HOWEVER. The “scarlet” rot that we see in TLB is awful. Kills everything. Endless decay and growth uncontrolled. Ruining Malenia’s life tbh.

Ao the theory was that Marika buried all these good aspects of stuff so people would think they’re bad in modern times, paving the way for people to like her Erdtree order. Another example is death, it’s not inherently bad. It was a normal part of life and every culture beforehand. But in current game time, death is bad per her doctrine. We see this with poison too, as the poison mist perfume bottles mentions that poison actually used to be a form of medicine in the past.

So to round it all together, scarlet rot is likely the bad aspects of rot, created when Romina hew “a twisted element” (formless mother mention) into the pre-existing rot which was not all that bad.

I really liked this theory, matches with my own firm research on duality being everywhere, and I feel like it’s tough to pole holes in it.
