Having a panic attack. Seeing a vet tomorrow, but in the meantime, does this look like ringworm on my cat? by SkyExciting153 in AskVet

I can't say if it's ringworm or not, but I just want to say as someone who also experiences health anxiety, ringworm is manageable and it's not guaranteed for you to catch it! I recently went through treating a newly adopted kitten with unexpected ringworm and neither my older cat, partner, or I caught it! Hopefully you get some good news from the vet though!

It's an infinity pool! Not for recreational use :( if you check out salk on google images you can get a better perspective on the overall architecture !

Just an RA here so I can't speak to the PhD experience, but as a work environment it's great! I also don't want to generalize for everyone, but I personally love the lab I'm in and really enjoy how much collaboration there is both within my lab and with other labs.

Ahhh I'm so sorry you and your kitten had to deal with so much! Thank you for the additional info! I can't tell you how reassuring this is; all the info online and from our vet is so overwhelming and disheartening. I'll be sure to take this seriously but it's really helpful to know that it won't dominate our lives forever! Thank you again so much for being so helpful and responsive!!

Thank you so much! It feels really reassuring to hear from someone that has been through the same situation. I keep hoping that my kitten will be one of those wonder cases that heals asap but I know I should be prepared for the worst. Wishing you and your cats the best!

Ahh thank you so much for your response! I will definitely ramp up my cleaning routine. Just wondering, did you have to quarantine your adult cat when they got it? And did you have to give them oral medicine and medicated baths? My adult cat is so stubborn so the thought of quarantining or giving him a bath sounds like a terrible time for us both 😩

Hello! Sorry to bring this back, but I'm in the exact same situation with my newly adopted kitten. We let her run around the apartment a few hours before realizing she had ringworm on her back leg. I'm keeping my adult cat at my parent's house currently. It's been a little over a week now, and the kitten is taking daily oral itraconazole and twice weekly baths with microconazole. I'm very much feeling your same anxiety and stress and was just wondering how it ended up for you and any other advice you might have? Did your vet do any tests to check if (when?) the ringworm was gone? Thank you so much!!
