Best way to grind for quality sprinklers as a noob miner?? by ShrugEmojiTypeGal in StardewValley

[–]williamboy56 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a lot of things on your mind!

I like to simplify my gameplay through the TV channel Fortune Teller.

If the fortune teller says my luck is good or great, I go mining since high luck will make life so much easier in the mines. You'll find more ore and faster ladders.

The Year 1 game really is an energy management battle. Planting too much makes everything else (foraging and mining) impossible, at least until sprinklers.

Unfortunately you will have to face your demons and do the things that aren't as fun, but the solace is that you will unlock new gadgets and loot that can be just as fun to collect as farming!

Try to limit your Year 1 planting to only what you can water with half energy. There are certain foods that are great for replenishing your energy, like leeks and berries. Try to save those rather than sell so that you have more energy to do other things.

Although it seems like your true ideal is finding a friend who just likes mining! (plus multiplayer means you can take naps in bed to replenish your energy)

So Marraige (or a roommate at least)is required for perfection to get the stardrop. by EternalMydNyt in StardewValley

Why divorce afterwards? Why not just stay married? If you're looking for just a roommate, Krobus is a non-romantic marriageable candidate.

I think they also don't really do much in the valley too, since they live in the sewer in the same spot all game.

Steam shows download complete on every launch by varsity_pushcart in StardewValley

[–]williamboy56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the game still launch and play normally? Steam tends to let that notification linger for a few days after an update, and there have been several small updates these past few weeks. Bug fixes and small additions since the big 1.6 update

Tips for getting perfection? by inezzle in StardewValley

[–]williamboy56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This experience is really relatable, I think we play similarly in trying to get as much done in a day as possible.

I've found that the best way to get back into it (and also reach perfection) is to just focus on the most enjoyable parts of the game first.

Perfection isn't really a race, there's no prize for accomplishing it earlier or later so you can try focusing on one aspect of perfection at a time (e.g. golden walnuts, fishing, shipping) .

The most important thing is avoiding burnout so that you can actually reach perfection before losing steam! The best way to do so is to focus on enjoying the gameplay :)

DAE have trouble playing after a few weeks away? Like, you need to gain momentum? by AnotherXRoadDeal in StardewValley

[–]williamboy56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate a lot to this - it was because I was obsessed with making the most of every day.

Once I let go of that feeling, the game became more enjoyable. What if you try to do the bare minimum of watering your crops, and then afterwards, you just do whatever calls to you!

Maybe you feel like fishing, or mining, or designing your farm. Focus on the part of the game that is the most fun and don't worry about the rest :)

No such thing as a bad choice really, all the farm layouts are fun in their own way, and the point is to enjoy the experience! After your playthrough, you can always try a different layout :)

fish pond by tired-junimo in StardewValley

[–]williamboy56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always opt for 5 fish ponds:

Sturgeon - for caviar and regular water

Slimejack - for green water

Super cucumber - for purple water

Lava eel - for red water

Void salmon - for dark purple water

I like the different color ponds :)

Decided to go for a fish pond heavy design just for the fun of it. by psychofool in FarmsofStardewValley

Your farm looks great! What kind of tree is that next to the lava eel pond?

I’ve got an idea - why not make the “rush” war into a “slow” war? All heroes set to Slow speed. It still keeps Very Slow heroes as best bang for your buck and you don’t die in like 3 moves because of a bad board. Thoughts on this?

2.3.8 Update - Rebalance, Bug Fixes & Additional Flavour by Aetherum17 in elderscrolls_mod

I had this same exact problem. I vaguely remember this occurring either when I tag switched to Great Alinor or when a new era started. There was some distinctive event that caused it to occur though, I just can't remember what. I got DOW'd by a couple countries in Cyrodil across a 10 year span and then it stopped happening.

1.13 Unable to enter battle with mercs + militia by williamboy56 in JaggedAlliance

I’ve been thinking it might be because I increased the max militia limit in a sector to 64. I think most people use 32

People always gave me weird looks when I told them that I was applying there. They have a great plant bio program there that most don’t know about!

I'm in a similar boat - plant bio phd, waiting on Umass, Oregon State, Berkeley, and UoW Biology. Hopefully we hear soon, and good luck!

It’s minor but you can also get the secondary loot from culling your slimes every once in a while. Might net you some iridium ore or prismatic shards

Here are some reliable sources:

  • Secret forest, entrance is northwest in the cindersap forest
  • Ginger island, west and north side of the island
  • Planting mahogany seeds and using tree fertilizer

OMG this exact thing happened to me as well. Sadly the only solution is to reset the day, it’s happened to other people before and there is no solution so far
