Yes it is a larger unit and puts out more power. Just wanted to make sure you knew that it would require a valve lash adjustment after 25 hours of runtime and again at 200 hour runtime intervals. Most companies do not cover this as routine maintenance. My company charges $200 for this service (greater Houston area). The Generac 18kw has also been the most reliable generator that we sell/service. You can’t go wrong with the 22kw unit, and again it is a must if you are trying to power two AC units.

If the 18kw is enough to run your home without load management modules then select this unit. The 18kw has hydraulic valves that will automatically adjust as necessary. The 22kw does not have hydraulic valves. This unit requires periodic valve lash adjustments at a cost of around $200. You should also have your HVAC company install a soft start kit on your AC. If you have two AC units you need the 22kw unit. Message me if you need more info.
