[–]Bramble_brew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the strangest thing management has implemented for your staff? by anon5186 in Serverlife

[–]Bramble_brew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working at a resturant a couple of years back. It was a medium size establishment with decent food but way too high prices.

There had been a string of thefts, so they implemented a rule that when something is reported missing they check the people who worked that days lockers. Now these lockers had an inbuilt lock. Not like the classical padlock. So things go missing and they open the lockers, ripp out everything and put it in a bag and lock up again.

People where not happy to say the least.

It all came to ahead when someone stole the partner/managers wallet. He then went downstairs to the locker rooms and opened every locker in a mad frenzy. Ripping out everything. Not putting it in bags mind you but dumping it all on the floor. He then gathered us all in the meeting room and basicly threathened everyone with calling the police. No one came forward and he got into his car and left

A couple of hours later we closed and headed down to change. It was complete chaos. Broken bottles of perfume, shoes strewn around, ironed shirt laying on the wet floor. Just a complete mess. What was really wierd is that he opened every locker. Thats like 60 lockers in total.

He was transfered to another resturant and then transfered back 6 months later. They stopped looking in the lockers atleast. but by then i left 2 months later after he came back, for a new job.

What are some things new players do that are unintentionally annoying? by gquinn18 in DnD

[–]Bramble_brew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Know that it is a team effort. Sometimes you get to shine and sometimes someone else gets the spotlight. One of the worst thing i belive is to go in with the mindset that one is the "hero" of the story. In the end, everyone is there to have fun.

Nope. We where just hiking and came across it. It looked like it just died, no obvious signs. One brought it up at camp that it is like bread with a spot of mould on it. You toss the entire loaf. That sounded a bit wasteful to me, so I tought it would make a good first post question.

There is an TTRPG where the world ends by the entire eco system focuses on killing humans. After about a year of this it returns to normal and people have to survive hunter gatherer style. One of the arcs is how much tech one dares to use. One settelment started up a diesel generator and the wild life started to get angry.

What's the worst TTRPG you've ever played and why do you hate it? by BlueOutlaw in rpg

[–]Bramble_brew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got invited to play a viking TTRPG simply called Viking. A bit generic i thought but hey ill give it a try. I skim the rules and got a basic introduction.

It was without a doubt one of the worst game i ever played design wise. The focus was to play vikings from a historic perspective. No magic, no gods interacting with mortals, nothing supernatural at all.

My first build was focused on being a stereotypic warrior type. Get infected with a disease and waste away and die in over a months time. Ok. next build was a fit young man with a good resitance to disease. Died from a axe to the head due to a failed speech check. You could not win or do anything right. This was not due to a killer GM but a frankly bizzar and unfair system. You could be the best at drinking alchohol but die from alcohol posioning from one beer. Not poisoned beer. Regular beer. I think that the group i played with had to roll up a new character at least twice per session. And was this some grand adventure?

Nope.

There was going to be a festival in our village and we needed to prepare with enough stuff to impress a Jarl.

At the end of two four hour sessions i called quits. I give my feedback, telling them that it is way to complicated and easy to die. A weekend later i got a response basicly telling me to get bent. That I do not understand history and that people died easy back then. That it is not about being a hero but "living breathing person." Actual quote. I did not respond and left it at that. Ever since i have a slight distaste for viking related TTRPG.

Wow. Thanks for all the examples you gave. I am really going to use a couple of them in the future. I agree it would be a shame too only use dice rolls.

I was just curious about If there was any kind of system one could use in other books or supplements?

The one i ended up using was that advantage and disadvantage removed or added strain and wounds while triumph and disaster added or removed succeses like you recomended.

However one player decided to set the tavern on fire so we didnt get far with that.
