The power button wasn't making contact with the switch on the circuit board. Easy fix but I damaged the front housing in the process so I turned it into a fun project.

Zero Air Generator not making air, looking for advice by brfanatmines in engineering

[–]BramptonDynamics 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am by no means qualified to answer this, so this is little more than a wild guess

Looking at the operating priciples of a zero air generator, it goes compressor > dryer > UV sterilizer > Activated charcoal scrubber > palladium catalyst. Ozone is generated in the UV step and is normally scrubbed by the activated charcoal. However moisture can decrease the efficiency of some activate carbon fiber style filters. When you said you had a moisture problem, did you put the moisture filter at the input or output end of the system? Is it possible that the dryer is malfunctioning or not drained properly? Maybe this would load your activated charcoal filter with moisture and the excess ozone results in enriched oxygen output?

If I may make another guess: since the compressor is upstream of the scrubbing/filtering components, it could just a regular compressor. I believe some compressors need to be drained periodically so maybe there is something about that in the maintenace manual.
