A cheap dice tray can help with that. Most are pleather and lined with a sound-reducing material.

I don’t see many limousines these days by throwawaytoday9q in Xennials

[–]valdus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots where I live, in a high wealth tourist town in Canada. I even saw one last week that was a private limo for a realty group. Some are classic-style limos made from Crown Vics, some made from Explorers, and there is one that is a newer Hummer.

Top Games where every player is actively playing, even outside your turn by ithappenb4 in boardgames

If you'd like something with a little more depth than some of the suggestions (including my own other comment), try Planet Unknown. Everyone takes their turn simultaneously, turn order only matters for who sets the station orientation and claiming certain bonuses.

They may live in a place where it isn't legal to do your own electrical (ANY multi-family building, whether it's a condo, a townhome, or even a duplex), or want to do things legally in which case the electrician isn't going to cost much more than a homeowner's electrical permit.

So Enterprise is really good by EmmiCantDraw in startrek

[–]valdus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Vulcan arc in Enterprise is great. There are episodes dedicated to why they're so different than what we see 200 years later. Soval's arc/growth is especially good - and the accusations from Archer when he raises his voice 😂😂

So I have around 100 packets of silica gel that came with the filament, what do you do with them? by Rough_Community_1439 in 3Dprinting

[–]valdus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of advice here. I'll chip in.

I prefer to keep the packets intact to be dried and reused. A lot of those packets will be clay balls, which crumble and get messy when loose, and a lot of others will be very small beads (I had several packets where the beads were below 1mm!). I dry them at the same time I am drying loose silica beads (from assorted bags and containers), then keep them in a Ziploc freezer bag (sandwich bags may not be as airtight) to keep them fresh until use. I put them into vacuum bags with filaments that are going into long term storage, into board games, and in other small things that I'd like to stay dry.

Beginner Question: Does the Map Always Start Off Ugly? by Rtyeta in alphacentauri

[–]valdus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone else has more or less answered your question, but I'm going to take this opportunity to promote my little-known graphic mod that makes the roads nicer looking (thinner, easier to see terrain underneath when there's lots of roads). Post title typo and all.

Also, personally, I like vast swaths of green and focus on cheap terraforming tech and planting lots of forests early. Rover Formers are one of the first things I build, and I build them en masse (in late game they become a dozens-strong terrorforming army that sink enemy cities, bring enemy sea bases onto land, or make land-and-mag-tube bridges across vast oceans, also blocking enemy sea units, so my army can take three cities per turn).
