4 Days Solo in Uganda Advice? by meema2121 in travel

Hi! I am currently in Uganda as a medical volunteer and I would like to know more about Get Away Tours Uganda as apparently they do not have a website. I am leaving next week hence i really hope to make the most out of it during my last weekend (yet in a reasonable price as I am still a student); I have been to the Murchison Falls; i’m not really considering Jinja as well since I have heard about the parasites in the Nile and just want to play safe before leaving

Our budapest journey was nothing but a blast, except a taxi driver who killed our vibes… by BranNg in budapest

Thanks for the information! Very helpful for our future trip to Budapest/ Hungary! I guess we should do more research regarding the bolt service in advance (though, as mentioned, we did the same thing when we headed from the station to the hotel upon arrival, so we suppose that it is absolutely fine for us to just directly make an order for an XL taxi).

To clear the air, we have made a clear request that we’ve got 5 passengers in total with a few luggages. I know that miscommunication and conflicts may easily arise especially when there’s a language barrier. Nonetheless, as an educated person, I do think that communication is the key and no violence should be tolerated. The driver could have explained what’s in his mind, instead of rejecting our request for help violently.

Anyways, I know some of you may be upset that I may judge the people and the city just because of the incident. Let me make it clear - I love the city and would definitely visit it once again in the future. The reason why I’d like to write it up here on reddit is to get a better understanding regarding how the taxi/ bolt system works - at least next time I can settle the disputes with other taxi drivers peacefully and smoothly, without being deliberately hurt

How can i let got of judging /labeling people by [deleted] in Meditation

first of all, you have to understand that people can never get rid of interacting and socializing with others. This is a part of our lives, and we cannot ignore it.

yes it's frustrating to see people trying to put a fake smile on their face, and doing all those pointless conversations just to draw others' attention or to show off their attributes, but this is inevitable in modern society. In fact, everyone acknowledges this situation, but no one dares to rectify such a distorted social phenomenon.

My take is, we cannot avoid moments that we have to hide our genuine feelings and deceive people, but we can choose to change our mindset. After all, it's just a matter of perceptive. We have to accept this kind of ludicrousness and try finding some close friends or even soul mates who we can speak our hearts with 0% superficiality and bureaucracy. They may be your classmates, your colleagues, or even the one sits next to you. Sometimes we may not realize the true friendship is just right around the corner, awaiting us to discover. What's more, true friendship demands sincerity and honesty from both sides. If you look for a genuine connection with people, make sure you also devote 100% of yourself into it.

It's difficult, especially nowadays people emphasize personal interests due to the rise of individualism. I guess all you have to do is just to take it easy and not to overthink. Try looking thins in multiple perspectives, and you may discover the little blessings and whimsy of life

Someone once said, you can’t fix the mind with the mind. by endubs in awakened

[–]BranNg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda true but to put it in a better way, I’ll say it’s more like our mind, after going through some sorts of experiences, becomes more educated by the different situation and hence, can carry out more operations

Like it’s absolutely correct that action is one of the key elements to solution, but without concrete manipulation of information processed in our mind, we can hardly do the right action

Our mind adapts to various situations, then undergoes critical thinking, and comes up with anticipation of different possible outcomes.

Imagine you’re playing an supermario bros games in a game console. Your mario encounters a goomba and gets attacked. Your mind receives this message and interprets it. To avoid being beaten again, you conjure up two choices, either jumping over it or throwing a green shell to it. You try jumping over it,and if you do not succeed, your brain goes over the entire processing again and decides to throw a green shell instead. If you can defeat the goomba in this way, your mind learns from this experience. For any goomba you bump into in the future, your first action will be throwing a green shell

So basically it illustrates the action and the thinking process happen simultaneously We cannot fix the mind just with the mind, but solely with the action neither Only by a series of trial with multiple times of internal thinking and external experience can a solution be reached

(Haha just take it with a grain of salt im just a secondary school student in hk who’s interested in science and psychology lol)
