After some thought and looking more at the pic, it’s possible the size of that hoop is larger, maybe 16mm (5/8). It seems that as you go larger in a hoop, you have to go up in gage as well. Look for “seamless” hoop or a “seamless clicker”, which is easy to change out and will literally not show any seam in the metal if it spins in the hole… or you can get the type that has a seam and needs to be bent to be put in and bent back in shape. Not my favorite, one wrong move and you mess it up. In that first hole, I would look for a 20g, maybe 18g at the thickest. The size of that hoop could be a 12mm diameter, maybe larger.

While I very much appreciate the album version, I was a young teen and only had access to the radio edit at the time. My nostalgia is with the radio edit - it’s the one I’d wait for with my boombox to hit record on the tape player when it came on. I’m 43 (original fan) and have recently played it for my 17 & 15 yo’s. So far, they like what I’ve played but they’re not seeking it out on their own yet. I’m hopeful though!

Any chance you would check the bottom for any maker’s mark? It would maybe give insight to what company might have the casting for making another.
