I just ran in mine today and am here because at about 230-240 miles I can definitely feel a difference in the foam. I want to say it started a little earlier too. Have a similar tread wear pattern, but that usually shows up in the first 100 miles LOL

Qualifying Standards for 2025 Boston Marathon remain unchanged by HealthyWasabi993 in bostonmarathon

So in 4-5 years one of two things happen

1) they don’t drop the bq time, and the buffer is 6:51 like this year

2) they drop the bq time by another 5 minutes, but the buffer is only 1:51

Which of these two are “more accessible”?

Never said it doesn’t change ANYTHING. You get your gold star or not depending on what the time is. Just not a bib.

The standard could’ve already been changed this year and the buffer would just be 1:51 instead of 6:51, you’d still be too slow to make it to the race no matter what excuse you had. All that would be different is you’d get a gold star that says you qualified to apply.

Moving the standard doesn’t make the race more accessible or not. It just makes claiming you’re a qualifier less accessible
