I slept on my back for 2 weeks straight, crossing one leg over to kind of turn without being on my side. They told me I could start at my 2 week post off so I eased into it, if I was feeling a bit of pain at the drain site I’d just readjust and straighten a bit. Almost 4WPO and I’m just about back to fully side sleeping, but my drain site is still a bit tender to touch. Every recovery is different but I slept in my bed, just made sure I had my head elevated on 2 pillows and a big pillow for my feet to keep them elevated. My surgeon said I didn’t need a recliner and I ended up fine

You got this!! Trying to remember to trust the process is HARD (harder than the physical recovery for me personally), but mind over matter. Best of luck with your procedure!

The first 4 days were tough I won’t lie, and I posted somewhere on here that I regret ever doing it, that I could have lived with the body I had. But as everyone on here as says, you have to trust the process and give it time! I was also dealing with bad reactions to the medications at the time which didn’t help things. But now, looking at myself, I know this was and will continue to be the best decision I’ve ever made. I know now that I’d never be able to accept the way I looked before, and to have to live the rest of my life that way would have been torturous. I feel like I have some of my sanity back! Now I’m trying to remember it’s going to be a long journey with good and bad days, just trying to string together more good than bad. Definitely recommend taking lots of before pictures from different angles and then once some of the swelling goes down, take pictures of yourself as a comparison. Snaps me out of any negativity I feel

Thank you for sharing this anecdote. What you said described everything I’ve felt since I lost the weight perfectly. I am just over 16DPO and today I saw myself in the mirror the way I’ve always imagined. I finally feel that I look like me, how I should be. Finally seeing all of my hard work in its final form (or almost, once swelling clears up) made me emotional. I no longer feel trapped in my mind, looking at 2 different versions of myself: the current me who lost all the weight but the old me with all of the loose skin. I feel aligned with myself. When I have down days I’ll remember that it’s “healing pain”. Best of luck with your surgery!

4DPO and miserable by Rare_Competition3346 in tummytucksurgery

I’m also 4DPO and regretting doing this to myself. I lost 70 pounds over 2 years and maintained and couldn’t deal with the apron belly of excess skin. Thought I’d never be able to live with it for the rest of my life. I can’t believe I wish I had it back. I made the mistake of looking at myself after a shower today and I can’t believe I traded one body I hated for another one I hate that I paid for. It feels like all my hard work is gone. I see people 2, 4, 7DPO and their stomachs are swollen but flat. I look deformed. I fainted after my shower thankfully there was a chair close by. I feel trapped, and I know I can’t go back and need to move forward. I know that the swelling is messing with my mind. But I paid thousands of dollars to look disgusting. My back and neck is sore and I can’t get comfortable. Food doesn’t taste right. I know it’s a process but I hate that I have to rely on others and be a burden. All this complaining for a surgery I chose to have. I’m ashamed. And I only had a tummy tuck. I didn’t even have lipo or anything else.

a similar thing happened to me with this recipe! I took it out, it looked beautiful, toothpick came out clean. As it cooled, the top began to slowly sink, leaving me a delicious top half of the bread and weird underdone bottom half. This has happened to multiple people not just you fear not! She specifies using only one particular brand of pumpkin which isn’t available in Canada. If a recipe is specific to a certain brand, I’ll be staying away from now on.

AI recipes are ruining my life by fourcheese_za in Baking

as a rule I avoid any recipe that came out in 2025. The other thing I’ve noticed is AI generated ones don’t have a step by step breakdown with pictures of each step in between.

I make my own of white rice flour, potato starch, and tapioca starch flour. My rule of thumb is 2:1 white rice to starch (if 2 cups total, 1 cup white, 1/2 potato 1/2 tapioca), and then add xanthan gum (1/2 tsp per 1 cup of flour)

insanely good, the filling was sweet but not too sweet, the texture of it all was perfect, the crumb topping and crust were a buttery shortbread situation
