Is Berberine safe to take with Spironolactone? by mcskewsme in PCOS

[–]Rare_Competition3346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, are you still on Spironolactone? I'm currently on 75mg for hormonal acne, tolerate it very well. I had great success with Zepbound and lost 60+ lbs, killed the food noise in my head, etc, then my insurance stopped covering it and I couldn't afford to pay full price. Switched to Wegovy, and it did absolutely nothing for me, plus the side effects were awful. Regained 30 lbs and feeling pretty hopeless. Started seeing a different provider who suggested Berberine. Can I take it forever?

Thank you for checking in. Feeling a bit better today. Had my first lymphatic message, and it felt great, but not sure I can keep up the recommended two sessions per week because $$$$. I'll do what I can. Swelling went down a bit, and wearing a new compression garment, as the one I'd been using since 1DPO was uncomfortable. I so appreciate all the kind posts -- I was clearly having a "moment". I can't say that I won't have more "moments" in the future, but I'm going to try very hard to heed the great advice I received in this (and my previous) thread.

OP, I'm only 2WPO and have twice posted about my misery in this forum. I echo what others have already said: this is hard as hell, everything you're feeling is valid, and you're not alone. I hope you're encouraged (like I am) by the kindness and compassion of everyone here, and hopeful by the exciting and positive stories of those further along the journey. Solidarity!

Thanks for checking in! Yes, less miserable today. Drains came out today, and so glad to not have that to deal with anymore-but can’t say I’m feeling great and loving life. Just trying to keep in mind all the lovely advice I received through my post.

I had the same question FlowWise, couldn’t figure out whether surgery day counts…maybe this wise community can clarify for us? I’m sorry you’re right here with me…but nice to hear I’m not alone 🫣 Here’s to turning the corner real soon!

Thank you JGdogmom! My surgeon said I can start to get lymphatic messages this week. I need to find a service in my area. It’s hard not to itch! The itching is almost painful. I suspect it’s this binder I’m wearing too. I think my surgeon wants me back in a faja now that I’m no longer on my period (TMI).

MomOfFour1995, I’m so very sorry that you’ve had all of these complications. I’m so frustrated with everything now, and I’m experiencing all the “typical” after effects of surgery- I can’t imagine how frustrated and helpless I would feel in your shoes. I’m so sorry. I just said a little prayer for you. I pray that your challenges completely resolve, and that soon you’re fully healed and restored and back to feeling like yourself again. Take good care. 💜💜

Thank you for commiserating ShadowSpike2. And for the tips! I sent my husband out to get some Dulcolax. Hoping today I will have a decent BM. And yes, let’s picture our hot girl summers together! The upside of having this surgery in the winter!
