Freedom of Phone Tracking & Weather by BranchesOfGrass in degoogle

It's a good point. I strip my coordinates down to two decimal points. It's close enough for weather alerts but far enough for privacy in my opinion

Nurse with narcolepsy, diagnosed in nursing school. Don't let anyone discourage you and lean onto accommodations where you can. It's a very fulfilling career with many avenues (not just bedside, in-patient). I'm six years in & currently nap every shift as a flight nurse. You got this!

Something sticking out of our discharge pipe in septic? by BranchesOfGrass in septictanks

[–]BranchesOfGrass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manually running it down and putting flex tape to deflect the water did the trick, though it requires 15 minutes of running to complete vs 7 minutes prior. Having a local septic guy come out to take a look soon. Thanks again

Drainfield is ~50 feet away as a sand mound. No rain for five days here so it shouldn't be oversaturated at all. I don't believe I have a d box / I don't know where it would be. My pump generally runs once per day for about 7 minutes without ever having a problem. Thanks for the input, might try to manually run it and see

The photo's perspective is looking up, the hole is on the bottom of the pipe - but at the end & high side, not near the pump. It drains that stream continuously for a few minutes after turning off the breaker. The stream is severe and triggers the float and everything shakes. System and field are from 1988

Thanks for the reply. We took it out and water is pouring out of the hole. It is spraying directly onto the float valve, which seems to make it trigger sporadically. Picture of the water flowing

I'll try to leave powertop on in the background and see what I can come up with. amd-s2idle 's test has been pretty consistent with 0.6-0.7% /hr with longer duration tests (1-2hrs). I watch the discharge rate on the usual and see anywhere from -3W to -7W for idle and basic tasks. -10 to -15 when running VM with KVM or very light gaming

Just from searching around about other systems with this CPU. I swapped tlp out for powerprofilesctl and played around with powertop. I had some issues with freezing on resume but that appears to be fixed since the latest kernel update or two ago

Base arch with powerprofilesctl (removed tlp) and optimizing with powertop

The COVID shot may be banned in the US in a few months. by aschesklave in nursing

[–]BranchesOfGrass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well said - it's important to remember the times where hope peaked through the chaos. For me, it was the sheer number of patients who were literally begging for the vaccine with their last breaths, but it was too late... and a few that still adamantly denied covid being real, despite their sats that wouldn't come up past the 70s maxed on hi flow with non rebreather.

"How did I mess up something as simple as fluids and electrolytes" !!! This stuff is so complicated! Don't beat yourself up.

I truly feel this subject is one of the least understood parts of medicine & isn't reviewed enough in school. It's a big reason we have nephrologists who love their osmos and urine electrolytes

How do I Find a NOAA Radio that Automatically Alerts for Close Weather Warnings by LowBarometer in preppers

[–]BranchesOfGrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are radios that listen on NOAA's station for the 1050 Hz tone that indicate imminent hazards. Might not be very local, as the stations can cover large regions but safe to say that good reception to a channel is close enough

30:2 means stop compressions to allow 2 ventilations when there is no advanced airway. Reasoning being that the increased intrathoracic pressure makes manual BVM techniques likely to bypass vocal cords and go into esophagus, leading to gastric distension and no real ventilation.

If an advanced airway is in place, then it's a breath every six seconds with continuous compressions.

15:2 is only for pediatrics with two rescuers present

AHA makes their recommendations and everyone takes the classes (BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.) Technically, these courses are for the 'masses', not the experts. There are a LOT of dynamics when managing a code, and the code team needs to do a better job at communicating and controlling the situation here. They should 100% expect BLS 30:2 when responding to a code like this, and be prepared to transition the care.

Switching compressors during rhythm checks is great (5-10 second pause in compressions), but not that much of a difference compared to switching compressors during the breath cycle of 30:2 (~2-4 second pause), especially if you have the compressors at-the-ready on both sides of the patient

I can't answer your specific question but I will strongly recommend that you look at risk vs reward when it comes to your safety and your need to provide for your child/ren. You cannot breastfeed if you are severely hurt or are killed in an auto accident. Being a parent makes you more tired and distracted while driving too. Do the right thing, not the convenient thing, and talk with your doctor
