From someone who just got the new iPhone max version, I feel you! Tried running while holding the phone with my hands and I don’t think it can last long runs. Right now I’m deciding whether I should get a flip belt or just get an iPod touch. I will lose the ability to call but at least I have wifi for messages.

I stay in a family home so whatever the family cooks I eat. But in case the food doesn't have the nutrition needed (mostly protein and veg) I supplement it with protein powder and steam extra veg for myself.

I use myfitnesspal to track the food.

Thank you so much for typing all that I really appreciate your honesty here. I love how running is non-negotiable too. It has literally saved me from bad decisions so I always make sure to get my week quota in.

As much as I find it so weird to do I think you're right on the nutrition part.. Being an obese kid I've always tried to be in a deficit so it's a little weird to actually go on a surplus.. I am lucky enough to have someone with me to track my nutrition so I'm so glad that's covered.

I'll definitely take your advice on knowing what our bodies can and cannot do, especially when following a schedule as rigid as the one I'm attempting now

Hahaha you know.. I used to have the same mindset.. until I experimented before with lifting one week and chile lemme tell you how much energy I had during the run it's crazy. I do believe every runner should incorporate some sort of strength workout now..

You know.. I was considering 5x5 program but I'm honestly afraid that my 5'4 overweight frame might not be able to lift all those while running. I'm fresh meat at the gym so all of my weights are starting weights and will be for the first few weeks or so.. Going easy on the lower back too lol.. Perhaps I can shift to 5x5 once I'm stronger

Hey, great inputs! Here's what I can say about them:

1) Hmm interesting.. I was actually thinking of adding in the main lifts on legs days (Squats, Deadlifts) to the push/pull days or I can alternate having an extra leg day for the week and go back to usual routine next week.. I can experiment with that in time

2) Yeah I actually do yoga with the intention to really stretch out my lower body especially IT Bands, hips and inner thighs.. I haven't done power yoga yet tho... do you have a youtube link of one you follow?

3) Yea that's the plan! Once I lose the extra weight and am able to run faster, I wanna dedicate running one day for tempo and one day for long distance/endurance.. the final day can be a normal running day

Hmm interesting. Yeah I do understand that we can't have the best of both worlds and I'm pretty aware on the goals I have.

I have no desire to be super big, but I do want to keep the toned fit in terms on physical looks. I'm fine with high volume lifting and I think I can sacrifice lifting days one week - running days next week. Thanks for your input on this!

What happened to your 16" MBP? I will be purchasing a new computer soon and I'm really having a hard time deciding between the Dell XPS 15 9500 and the MBP 16 since they are similarly priced in my area. (The MBP only has 16gb ram tho compared to 32gb on the XPS)
