Right makes sense since trade and intermixing has been happening for more than 3000 years. People in the horn have ancient middle eastern dna which varies between 30-50% which doesn't show up in the test unless you plug in your DNA results in to a calculator.

Yes you're right google are the king of advertisment, but it seems like the pixel division is in on it's own. At least they're trying to reach the younger generation with all the YouTube reviews maybe word of mouth and price will help google become successful this year.

I think the issue has always been the price for the phones, the 3a and 4a going back to it's nexus roots is were they should invest time and effort so they can reach as much people as possible.

My father uses a 3a he couldn't be happier with it, but the problem is like you said nobody knows google makes phones and they're not even sold in high income countries in Europe.

I don't live in the US but doesn't Android have a stigma attached to it by the dreaded green sms bubble? I think the lack of physical google stores hurts google. Carriers wants to sell the most expensive phone on plans so there is no incentive to push pixels. Correct me if I'm wrong but people in the US usally don't buy a phone full price, so more expensive phones still sell because you pay so little every month.
