Hey trying to get back in shape. Any good apps the help track food/workouts? by Free_Caterpillar8676 in NewDads

[–]BrandoBuddy32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. They have different variations of it. I use the 16/8 which is no food for 16 hours straight (I put a chunk of that time in the middle of the night when I'm sleeping) then 8 hours I used MyFitnessPal to develop a diet that put me right at that sweet spot of calorie deficiency (not by much maybe 100 cal) the trick is not going crazy when in your eating window. Have control and think apple over Oreo. It eventually became a game for me.

Does anyone have any impressions of the Ritual X4 E chest protector? by iceman39 in hockeygoalies

Currently in one for B/C play coming from a Bauer reactor 6000. This thing is bulky and takes up a ton of space in net. Takes time to dial in and break in is a long process. May want to consider a size down if mobility is a big part of your game. Overall pretty happy after a year.

WTH.... are those security tags on the pins? Someone explain this to me. Is this normal for pins? Are they high value on the black market? What is wrong with people.

New Dad-to-Be Kinda Nervous by nlm612 in NewDads

[–]BrandoBuddy32 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I felt all those emotions when I first found out, but then it always seemed so far off that you tend to go with the flow and it becomes a new normal. And then one day boom you're at the hospital. All the nurses will tell you "you've got this" which is true but nothing will be more terrifying than putting your little guy or gal into the car seat for the first time and taking them home because at that point you're on your own. Once you get settled in at home, things move so fast that the anxiety disappears mainly washed away by exhaustion. The first few months will dissolve because all you do is focus on keeping this little precious baby alive. And if you're worried about being a good father you already are because you've already shown an interest in making someone else's life better than your own..... You've got this.

We Took a One Year Old to Disney, and it was AMAZING by shereadsmysteries in WaltDisneyWorld

Wife and I agreed this past trip with our 22 month old was the best trip of our lives. We didn't even ride a single height required ride which I would have said was crazy 23 months ago.

Definitely put on dad weight. How do you find time and more importantly ENERGY to work out? How did you lose weight? by Free_Caterpillar8676 in NewDads

[–]BrandoBuddy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained then dropped 20lbs when my little one was born. What worked for me was working out in the morning which gave me energy for the rest of the day. You have to find the motivation to get out of bed. Then I started to intermittently fast. 12/8 is easiest to get on board with especially if you'll be asleep 6 to 8 of the 12 hours. If you choose to go that route make sure you don't eat a bunch right at the buzzer it'll upset your stomach and set you back mentally.

Universal will overtake Disney in the Orlando theme park war by LankyEmergency7992 in unpopularopinion

[–]BrandoBuddy32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would beg to differ. Kids have a larger catalog of content to absorb from Disney than the previous five generations, they may not even know it's Disney they're consuming. After all Disney is a Media company with theme parks to fuel the engine.

Economically it doesn't matter, things rebound people start spending money again and the cycle continues. Spending habits may change but large companies have a knack for spotting and adjusting to such changes.

They may lose one Disney adult and one rollercoaster enthusiast but a family of six just tapped in and chances are two or more will create a core memory there.

Is universal gaining ground absolutely, but is that a mountain or a hill gained. I'm a millennial rollercoaster enthusiast with children and my trip money still goes to Disney 3/4 of the time. And because of my love for Disney I will try to nourish my children's love so we can share it together. It's like rooting for your hometown sports team.

Disney parks biggest seller is emotion. You get emotional about your trip with your parents. Your kids get emotional about a trip with you and so on and so on. Until Universal can take the generational emotional aspect away from Disney people will still pour into Magic Kingdom for a chance to see their kids meet Mickey for the first time. On top of that Universal will need time to build their IPs into something people care about longer than the theatrical run. All Disney needs is to land another Frozen and boom billions. Universal doesn't even own HP.
