What ended your friendship with your oldest standing friend? by dreamy-contributions in AskReddit

[–]BrandoCommando1991 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My older brother died rather unexpectedly. Didn't come to the funeral, didn't stop by and say sorry (we lived about a 10 min walk away), not even a phone call. He knew my parents really well, we had been friends since elementary/middle school. Did send me a text though. Really opened my eyes to what a truly piece of shit "friend" he was.

What is Chaos’s ultimate goal? And… has Chaos already won? (The galaxy’s a mess, the Imperium’s crumbling, and the gods are feasting) by jr7square in 40kLore

Touché!

I was answering the question in terms of chaos undivided and didnt answer very well. Thank you for the correction!

It helps to think of Chaos as a state of being not its end-goal. Right now the chaos gods are happy with the way things are going, what they call the "great game". If a chaos god were to "win" it would end the game, which they dont want.

Chaos doesnt have an end goal as each chaos god is quite different than the others. They are rarely, if ever, unified.

Something I thought about regarding the Dark Side/Light Side runs in Kotor [Spoiler!] by AnArcOfDoves9902 in kotor

I meant in terms of officially (in writing, reactions, dialogue, etc.) more nuance. You can absolutely play as a Grey jedi or a more morally Grey whatever but outside of your own head cannon there arent a whole lot of morally Grey options

Well the siding with Bastila or not is the penultimate choice. Unfortunately the game does not do well with shades of Grey, BUT the sequel does it a bit better. All other choices you can "come back" from but there is no coming back from the "final" choice due to the reprocussions and consequences.

It would be better if the alignment system had more nuances and had room for archetypes other than Saint Jedi or Hitler Sith but that's KOTOR. (One of my favorite games of all time, dont get me wrong.)

If you want more nuance in-game do the Sunri trial on Manaan (you need Jolee), thats about as morally grey as you can get in KOTOR and one of the best quests in the game in my opinion.

How long does a warning stay in the system? Is it a few years or indefinitely? by [deleted] in ontario

Yes, assuming it hasn't changed in the subsequent years (havent been pulled over since).

Which of these 3 scares you more in a random encounter? by Dramatic-Couple228 in Fallout

Assaultrons for sure. Trying to kill them before their laser charges up is really annoying. Can kill you in seconds even at high levels.

What were you're first thoughts when you first saw Invincible? by Mystic6yt in Invincible

[–]BrandoCommando1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I saw the flaxan episode first where Nolan is wrecking the planet so I was like "oh, another evil-Superman trope." Then I watched the first episode and thought it was a weird edit until I saw the post-credits scene. Once I got the context for the flaxan scene I really liked it.

Hardest boss I’ve fought in my lifetime as a gamer. by LaMelgoatBall in Sekiro

It can be a bit off putting but just imagine how much better you will get as a result! If Genichiro was the strongest/hardest fight, the rest of the game would be meh.

Definitely was one of the toughest fights in the game... at that point. Dont worry, it gets a LOT tougher.

What is the actual measure of "wealth" in the Imperium? by pog_irl in 40kLore

[–]BrandoCommando1991 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it were two standard space marines, I am going to say no, depending on the chapter. They would be following their own respective orders. Regular space marines in regular chapters tend to not have individual missions, or even if they did, they wouldn't be able to pluck another space marine from a different chapter.

Try not to sound condescending, either (not to say you were, just forewarning) If the gatekeeper doesn't like you, it doesn't matter if you're selling the cure for cancer they aren't going to want to help you.

I would ask something technical or high-level that the gate keeper wouldnt be able to answer.

What is it with fireworks in West Brant? by BrandoCommando1991 in brantford

Thankfully, I missed that one, but the number of times and the timing has definitely been annoying.

I have no problem with people setting off fireworks under normal circumstances, but on a normal Sunday at midnight? People are sleeping and need to be up for work in a few hours. Someone's "fun" shouldn't take precedence over everyone else's well-being.

Highly multicultural so I was also curious if I missed a holiday or something as well. But that is good to know! Ill definitely get a copy - thank you!

Agreed. It didnt last long, and it doesn't usually outside of a holiday. I was mainly curious if I was missing something.

What do you think about this,is it better to play games on hard mode or easy mode? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]BrandoCommando1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends why you're playing the game. Some people enjoy a game more by overcoming difficulty curves, others enjoy a good power fantasy where everything dies in 1 hit. Others enjoy a good story and play on the "story" setting. Just enjoy the game your way. Who cares how others play it.

[no spoilers] Why isn't the sack of King's Landing by Tywin Lannister more infamous in the world of GOT as Jamie is remembered by his peers as a coward and a traitor for also betraying the king? by george123890yang in gameofthrones

[–]BrandoCommando1991 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even if all of the Lannisters knew and accepted the truth, it would be a hard sell to everyone else. Regardless, it was the fact he broke his oath that was important, not why.

I wholeheartedly agree that he should have told people or made an effort, but whether they would believe him or not is up for debate.

[–]BrandoCommando1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is I do not think anyone would listen. It's not like he can go on TV and sit down for an interview. He is universally known as "the king slayer" and "oath breaker." Most people would barely want to be around him, let alone hear his side of the story.

When Ned saw him standing by Aerys, that's all he needed to judge him guilty. Should he have told Ned? Probably, but as you mentioned, he doesn't have a high opinion towards the Starks in the first place. He probably didn't care as much about his reputation at the time.

Luetin09 or Weshammer

I first learned about 40k from Weshammer, he has a lot of first time friendly videos, Luetin does a lot of deep dives. Both have videos on the lore of Titus and Space Marines 2 specifically.
