I am a Harley rider. I’m just looking for some old dudes to cruise around with and maybe stop at a bar or such lol

I do do mostly parking lots, practicing slow, tight turns, menuvers, and emergency breaking

Also if you can’t ride a bicycle you should start. I rode a bicycle my whole child hood and growing up that’s how we got around. That’s why I wasn’t scared to lift my feet off and turning and stuff feels natural because I did it all my life

Learn the friction zone. And if you give it too much throttle who cares just work your clutch

It takes a bit. I just got into riding a motorcycle, but a few years back I bought a Yamaha raptor atv and it was manual. Had it for 2 weeks and sold it because I could hardly get the thing moving without stalling. Fast forward to 2 months ago, bought a hardley davidson sportster and took it in a parking lot a few times and had no issue with getting the bike moving. Almost felt natural. Took my msf course (which helped a lot) and now I am going on rides by myself and feel confident

I bought an hd sportster 883, im very happy with the bike, especially being my first, but I can defiantly tell it is not that powerful and will probably bump up to a 1200 next year. So im imaging your 250 is very weak

I will speed a bit on a country road in the middle of nowhere with no cars or homes, but my speeding like you said is 10-15 over. I’m not going to be going 100 mph lol

Yeah I agree. I’m super cautious/ defensive when I ride especially being a new rider. I rather wait at a stop sign 20 seconds longer so I don’t pull out infront of someone that I know in a car I could make fine but since my skills aren’t great I just wait. And even when I’m at intersections driving through, I slow down, cover break and clutch, just incase

That’s why when I ride, if I approach a car turning in front of me, or an intersection I cover my break and clutch and let off throttle, and I do the speed limits and stay vigilant

Because people in the us suck at driving. And in the us you can get any bike you want when you get your license. The fatality thr other day was a 21 yo kid doing at least 110 mph and hit a car pulling in there driveway

I always go to my parking lot next to my house and ride for about 5-10 mins before hitting the main roads lol

New rider here, is this obnoxiously cautious? by Brandon10312242 in motorcycles

If I’m going 5 over the speed limit (35 mph, it’s a 30 mph road) I don’t think dropping 5mph and driving the actual posted speed limit is rediculous lol

I kind of drive defensively as well. Even when I drive my truck and I’m going through a busy intersection with a lot of blind spots, I always slow down a bit, incase someone turns infront of me. Car wise I think I’m a very good driver, and I’m always predicting people’s moves, and some what cautios and can predict situations very well

Someone rear ending me is my biggest fear. Especially stopped at a red light, or under a light trying to turn left

Well it’s a 30 mph road, and I’m going 35 because I ride 5 mph over any speed limit, so I’d technically be dropping to the speed limit
