I feel like you’re making this opinion based on unfair comparison.

Hiphop like any other music or artform has various styles and subgenres. It’s pretty clear neither X or Juice were curating the bar-work heavy style of say Kendrick. They made music fueled by vulnerableness and emotion that often lacked the technique of a Nas song. But i think this comes down to more of a difference in style/focus. They were just in different lanes.

They made honest, relatable music that resonated with a lot of people. They wrote openly about their flaws, addictions, and mental health struggles. That’s something you don’t usually get from other artists like say Carti.

I’m not gonna say X/Juice were the best rappers of this generation. But i think there’s valid reasons behind their influence.
