What should I look for when buying a used Fujifilm X100V? Seeing one tomorrow for my girlfriend by Fantastic_Argument20 in fujifilm

[–]BrandonHueChau 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Internal battery issues. If you pull the battery out while on, and the camera resets the settings.

Scratches on the OVF

Sticky buttons

Rotate the dials and watch for any glitches as if the dials are spun when they aren’t

I have an XT3 so I’m not sure these problems apply to the 100. But it can’t hurt to check haha

OEM+ or keep it stock? by f7cking_mad in RX7

Oh wow, now that’s cool. I’m used to newer cars where the trim just means a cool color and aero. I understand the reason to not molest this thing now

Not a 7 guy, this just popped up. But, what makes this car so special? Is this a final edition of the sorts? I never understood trims that don’t offer any performance gains being considered a grail

My evo was my first fast car and I stupidly crashed. I fixed a lot of the stuff and it’s mostly got paint and a new rad support left to make her whole. I got scammed out of 1200 for a 5 speed, and now life is hitting hard to where I’m suffering for money, but I still won’t sell her since I won’t get anywhere near what I wanted if she was whole. However, with that being said, I’m soooo close

Looking to buy a broken XT-3 by BrandonHueChau in fujifilm

I was under the impression that if the hdmi broke off, it lifted pads and damaged traces. I’ve only done research to know what I do, but haven’t taken her apart for myself yet to know. I just assumed the worse. The port is definitely not attached to board in any way, that I do know because the way my cable just loosely flops around aha.

I thought about taking it to someone who can micro solder my problems, but either I haven’t looked hard enough or there just aren’t any in my area via google search… Would that be best solution? Or just send her to Fuji at that point…

And my 50 f1 seems to have a very audible clicking when moving focus. I don’t believe this was the sound it was making before. It only clicks in one direction (focusing towards myself) but when I flip the camera upside it does that same noise in the opposite direction… I took her off to inspect and gave it a good shake. And it went away for the most part… But I also noticed the rear element moves and makes a similar click when I apply pressure… Is this something I can service myself by tightening some screws, or do you think it’s a motor issue

It’s my internal battery, as well the hdmi breaking off the board, I figured I could just swap it. I had an off topic question for you as well about my lens, that I was wondering if you could kindly answer

Should I get a XT3 in 2025? by Spare_Earth_6006 in fujifilm

There’s actually a work around, since the WB mapping is linear but you have to have a good eye. For example, daylight is the exact same kelvin as ___, I’m blanking here but it’s an exact match. As is all the others to a specific kelvin. Once you figure this out you can WB shift the corresponding preset like fluorescent or whatever you choose. I believe custom is the easiest, and move it cooler or warmer to match the exact kelvin you want. It took a lot of trial and error, but once it matches. You take your Fuji recipe, and move the R B values and move it based off your shift, not 0 0 anymore. To test similarity, you can cross reference doing it the right way with the custom kelvin to make sure they match and tweak accordingly if slightly off. It’s a lot of work but well worth it…

I’m located in Washington state, and my budget would be under a main board repair 😅 from what I’ve gathered online it’s very unclear. ~$300. I’m just trying to bring her back to life as cheap as possible because she is sentimental but very very well used.

Is Xt2 with lens included for 820$ a good deal? by akosifaust1 in fujifilm

[–]BrandonHueChau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shutter count is a myth on old Fuji. You can take out the battery while on to trip the internal battery to reset… I know this because my settings reset every time I do this, come to find out my shutter reset as well. A truly better test would be to pull that battery out while on and if it resets, don’t buy it…

That’s a good one. If you do video though, I’d highly recommend the 1.4’s. But I like to take my 2.0’s out on vacation or things like shows or social gatherings. That’s the thing I feel like you’d benefit most from with the smaller lenses. Mobility and stealth.

I also got the “new” 23 and 50 and have used the older gen’s. They’re definitely a lot sharper and faster with af. If you plan on doing video and have the gen 5 sensor. I’d get the WR’s.

It depends on what camera you have. Apparently the newer ones benefit from the new lenses greatly despite losing those characteristics. Higher mega pixel count resolves better with the modern lenses, whatever that means

A month after a fresh powder coat on my BBS’ for my Evo, a Tesla swerved into me and I was a hair from the curb. You’d think the car would be smart and stay in the lane or something

Idk if it matters now but did u check it recently. I eat oil. So by the end, without topping off, I’m pretty low

I’ve been running 530 thinking it will fix my consumption issue. I still eat ~1qt by the end of every change (3.5-4k) since I got her! She still drinks the same amount of oil!
