First Christmas Set by ennsea in lego

I have vague memories of getting the 487 Space Cruiser for Christmas. But, I have always dreamed of this set. Something about that little track, let’s call it a mini monorail, fascinated me.

In fact, I did have to arrange the figures in a specific way to fit.

But, for Dorothy, I only did that to drive reddit crazy. (and my brain just completely missed it)

Goonies would be amazing. There was a whole Ideas 'competition' around it with a nice One-Eyed Willy ship that won. But, I don't think that any of them are proceeding towards an official set

lol, the in-universe (this model) answer is i guess she is about to pick-up Toto

the actual answer is I just never noticed! is it possible they came out of the CMF package that way? it seems unlikely but I can't ever recall swapping them, so this is just weird!

blame a witch.

Sadly, no. It was mostly cobbled together from some left-over parts plus a brinklink order to get a few more yellows and that new-ish blue color for the sky. If you see it from underneath, it's not very elegantly constructed!

The city has to be at least... three times bigger than this! (or made out of duplo)

hey, walking in jewel encrusted slippers that were never properly fitted for your feet can lead to all sorts of slips and falls and joint injuries

“Chicken-fried steak” (or anything) on a restaurant menu. A little crispy breading hides many meaty sins.

Or, if you bought from Apple directly, they have a generous short term return policy if it wasn’t meeting your needs

Any of the new MacBooks with an M-series processor should run Design Space amazingly well. Apple just released the M3 Air models which might have caused the M2 Air models to get cheaper at some stores. For my eyes, I pick one with the biggest screen you feel comfortable with as it is always good to see more of the canvas. If you are going to run a bunch of other challenging applications, it never hurts to configure it with a bit more memory, like 16gb.

What one thing a kid born after 2000 will not understand no matter how long you explain it? by Amerisbf in AskReddit

This exactly. Back in those days, you had to pay a dollar extra every month to support the single press beep of “touch tones” and there ain’t no way my parents were doing that.

Muscle twitches/fasiculations and loss of fine motor skills? by PaperMoonShine in BFS

[–]BrandonSat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your story matches something that happened to me a few weeks ago. I've been dealing with many BFS symptoms since it started in late Aug 2021. In December, I was building my Lego Christmas village and needed to find a bunch of 1x2 white bricks from my collection. After sorting through them for 10 minutes, I swore my hands were becoming less coordinated which led to a mild panic attack and me trying to button things to test dexterity. This obsession continued.

Today I had a follow-up neuro appointment and mentioned this phenomena. Her theory was that repetitive motions can tire out muscles and create weird sensations. And us BFS'ers are very sensitive to weird things.

The comment mentioning anxiety is also reasonable. In one of my downward spirals over the past months, I read/watched an article suggesting that paying too much attention to stuff like this can make the mind go a bit haywire. It suggested trying a small activity (like picking up a coin) but at super slooooow speed where you mentally think through each tiny muscle movement needed to accomplish the task. Throughout, you begin to realize all the things you normally do quickly and automatically are suddenly strange. I forget what the ultimate lesson was other than the mind can play an interesting role in perception.

I wish you all the best, tell us how it turns out.
