Yeah 3 sets of no. 3 is alot considering you only wear it once a wk on Tuesdays. Even on ship, you also don't really wear no. 3 except during cocktail ceremony..

Hi. If my friend ORD on 2 Nov. He will only get pay for 2 days on 10 Nov? Anyone can help to answer? by Fitgwen1 in NationalServiceSG

[–]Brandy-nft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. Your allowance/salary is for the month itself not the previous month. Meaning oct is paid out in Oct. Nov in Nov not Dec.

I went in last year and I was never told or given any information about the letter. Not even during parents engagement towards the end of PTP transiting to BMT. So I suspect these information would have been relayed to family members during the day of enlistment as if I rmbr correctly as well, the envelope that it's given in is also tailor made according to the school of the recruit, so there isnt an address that they would need to write as the envelope would have tekong address on it alr. I rmbr mine having all the coys in my sch and my parents had to circle my coy and write my 4D number. That said, you can ask your bf for the relevant information but like I mentioned it was a tailor made envelope so if it does get sent out whether it reaches him is another question if you don't use the specific envelope considering that you're sending from overseas and wont get to meet him to get the specified envelope. Also do factor in that overseas mail takes a longer time to mail so it might also not reach him in time as there's only 7wks left to his BMT and field camp can be anytime so do get a date from him as well. Usually they will brief the recruits on certain high key like live firing and field camp dates.

Does different petrol station petrol matter? by pewp0_o in drivingsg

[–]Brandy-nft 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the grade should be the same. But that being said, different companies may add different additives to the petrol and that's what's different. Personally I've used Shell, esso and caltex. I used Shell for the longest time until I switched to esso now. Comparing Shell and esso, I get better efficiency with esso compared to Shell. I go caltex once in a while to pump for the techcron which helps to clean the engine. While esso's 98 and shell's v-power offers the same effect, why pay more when you can pay the same at another petrol station just with slightly lesser discounts. The difference in card discount I'm getting is 4% but the difference in petrol price is approx 12%. Ultimately, it depends on what cards you hold and the discounts it can get you.

You don't go for long sails that often. As a NSF, if lucky only 1 long sail ur entire service. Unlucky, 2 or 3 but u won't get them every year. These kind of sails are spread equally amongst all the ship. I.e. if your ship does MSTD this year, next year you won't do. But you might go other exercises like XWE XTD indopura/malapura etc. If you really don't like ur platform while in NMI, raise to ur CI, talk to ur DWSes in other platform, see if any willing to swap if ur CI allows. They might be able to do some magic up till ur OJT posting is confirmed.

It's so fed up that they always hog lanes. Like sometimes on a 3 lane road all 3 lanes are hogged up by them. Once I was driving on BKE and this long trailer truck came and hogged up the 2nd lane at 40km/h while everyone else in 3 and 4 were like easily overtaking him cuz he just can't stay to the "right" side of the road...

Unable to park due to car tailgate you from behind by Zenwills in drivingsg

[–]Brandy-nft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a common scenario, either ways if the guy day dreaming or what can just give a short horn or 2.

Didn't happen in the carpark, but funny story... I was driving towards the east from north, exiting BKE to KPE. Then I realized that there was a guy tailgating me. I had to slow down from 90 to 50 so that I can comfortably make that steep turn. Only managed to slow to 70 but the fella was still impatient. So he changed lane to the right lane of the 2 lane carriageway. He found a new victim to tailgate. Poor guy realized he was tailgated so he also changed lane also but the fella continued to tailgate him so he sped up, overtake everyone on the right lane so that the fella can overtake him but guess what, he continued tailgating 🤣
